Dear Stargazers,

Mercury and Venus are busy this week, and the good news is that on the whole they create some very favorable influences.

Also, as discussed last week, tomorrow Mercury officially stations retrograde tomorrow in the sign of Libra. Although this cycle can coincide with some mixed signals, it also offers a golden opportunity for healing relationship issues - and not just the romantic kind!

Sept. 27: Mercury stations retrograde

BEST DAYS: While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

BEST AVOIDED: The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

Sep. 29: Venus trine Neptune | Sun Trine Saturn

If a new relationship begins today (personal or professional), it is best to hold off on making decisions or commitments until you are certain of the other person as well as your own feelings. Although the trine is considered fortunate, whenever Neptune is involved there is a risk of deception. It may not be malicious or intentional; in fact, it could even be self-delusion. Relationships aside, this energy is a wonderful influence for creativity as it inspires one's imagination.

Although brief in duration, the Sun trine Saturn is excellent for business-related endeavors, as well as for any project that requires concentration, persistence or self-control.

Sep. 30: Venus square Jupiter

If you need self-discipline today, be forewarned that you are likely to come up short because this energy tends to inspire laziness and promote self-indulgence. If temptation calls under this influence, you're likely to answer so depending upon your circumstances, a dose of self-discipline may be in order.

Oct. 01: Mercury square Pluto

This transit is excellent for negotiating deals and signing contracts. It is also good for starting a new course of study, especially if it involves religion, spirituality, law or philosophy. If you happen to be the one doing the teaching, you will be more effective than usual. If you are traveling today, your journey should go smoothly, and if not, it is good day to make travel plans. Since focus and concentration are also highlighted, this can be a very productive day.

Oct. 02: Venus sextile Pluto

This influence promotes creative abilities, and those who are involved in music, art or writing may receive some powerful inspiration. Any relationships that begin under this influence will likely have a "fated" quality to them which may or may not be true. Contacts between Venus and Pluto heighten emotions, which makes this an excellent influence for examining your true feelings about any given situation. Should a relationship begin today, it is likely to be intense or have a fated quality to it.

Oct. 03: Mercury trine Jupiter

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN LIBRA

September 27 - October 18

On Monday, September 27, Mercury will station retrograde at 25°28' Libra, and it will continue to backpedal through the sign of the scales until it stations direct on October 18.

Whenever Mercury is retrograde, it encourages us to review and reconsider some area of our lives.

Since this retrograde cycle is occurring in Libra, collectively speaking the focus is on relationships. Although Libra is associated with marriage and partnership, as the ruler of the 7th house it includes all of your 1:1 (or face-to-face) relationships. In short, it's any relationship where you have a vested interest.

Given that misunderstandings are more common during Mercury retrograde, it's important that you take extra care now when communicating with others, especially in connection with unresolved past issues that may resurface during this transit.

On a similar note, some of you may feel it's time to take the bull by the horns and make a conscious decision to deal with a longstanding issue.

Although it does not guarantee a lasting union, reconnecting with past partners is a possibility during this time. For many of you, such a reunion may bring the opportunity for closure.

Finally, this period can be very beneficial for reexamining what you need from relationships, so you can make better choices in the future. Likewise, it's a very favorable time for reconsidering what you bring to a relationship, as well as what you might need to change to make you a better partner.
