Subject: Your Weekly Astrology Forecast!

Dear Stargazers,

Get ready for an energetic shift this week as the transiting Sun leads us into a new season (Happy birthday, Cancer!), Venus tries on Mercury's wings, and the universe sends some lovely influences that are guaranteed to make you smile!

WEEKLY FORECAST FOR JUNE 20 - 26
All dates are given in the Eastern Time Zone.

Planetary Activity

June 21: Sun enters Cancer (June solstice)

June 22: Venus enters Gemini

Best Days: While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

June 20, 21, 22

Best Avoided: The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

June 24

Notable Aspects

Monday, June 20: Mercury sextile Jupiter

Today's influence is favorable for travel, education and social activities, and it's also a positive one for business and/or legal negotiations. However, since the feel-good nature of this energy tends to promote action over relaxation, it will require some initiative on your part to make the most of it.

Tuesday, June 21: Venus trine Pluto

If a new relationship begins today, it may feel as though it's fated to last a lifetime. While this could true, it may just be Pluto's compelling voice whispering in your ear, so it's best to give it some time before making any commitments. Existing unions are likely to deepen in meaningful ways, and if you've drifted apart, this influence can help draw you back together.

JUNE SOLSTICE

June 22, 2022 at 5:14 AM EDT

The June solstice occurs when the Sun enters Cancer, and here in the northern hemisphere, it marks the longest day and the beginning of summer. It ushers in a time to venture out of our homes, socialize with others, connect with nature and enjoy the bounty of the season.

Physically, the Sun sustains life by providing light and heat, and astrologically, it represents our free will and creative abilities, including the ability to give birth on physical, intellectual and artistic levels.

Perhaps most important, the Sun signifies one’s soul, that immortal part of us that can never be broken or destroyed.

That's why the summer solstice is a celebration of life.

In the southern hemisphere, the June solstice marks the shortest day and the beginning of winter. It ushers in a time to withdraw into our homes, look within and connect with our higher selves and appreciate the stillness.

The winter solstice marks the rebirth of the Sun, because from this point forward, the days begin to grow longer.

That's why the winter solstice is a celebration of the light that dwells within us. It honors our ability to reawaken, emerge from darkness and experience renewal.

Whether you’re welcoming summer or winter, may the Solstice bring a new cycle of peace into your life.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CANCER!

The Ram, the Bull, the Lion, and the Scorpion. Each in its own way is powerful, intimidating, and even deadly.

And then there’s the Crab.

While it’s true that its pincers can cause considerable (even excruciating) pain, the Crab does not inspire awe or fear as does a charging ram, a raging bull, a crouching lion or a crawling scorpion. In fact, the only thing it seems to inspire are the salivary glands of those who view them as a delicacy.

In their own habitat, crabs are well recognized for their combative ways. The males are known for fighting other males to gain access to lady crabs, and all crabs seem to bicker over the best hiding places on the beach.

Like their crustacean counterparts, human Cancers can also be combative, and they're no stranger to bickering. But more than that, they tend to be moody. In fact, it can be difficult to keep up with their changing emotions. As my grandmother used to say about her Cancer-born son, “The way you leave him, you don’t find him.”

Of course, there is a very good reason why Cancers are so moody: the Moon rules them. After all, when one considers the effects of the Moon upon the tides, how can mere mortals such as Cancers be expected to resist the lunar influence? They can’t, which is why we need to give them a free pass every now and then.

Furthermore, in contrast to Aquarius who can live the life of a nomad or Sagittarius who can live out of a suitcase, Cancer need to put down roots. As the zodiac’s natural ruler of the fourth house of home, Cancers have a strong need to establish their own home, as well as furnish it, landscape it, and populate it.

Cancer also rules the stomach, and the good news is that both the he-crabs and the she-crabs are usually excellent cooks. As the nurturers of the zodiac, Cancers truly understand the soothing effect of comfort foods. Even better, their cupboards are always well stocked, which is why you can trust me when I tell you that Old Mother Hubbard was not a Moon Maiden.

Although Cancer is associated with domesticity, it does very well in the business world. Thrifty by nature, Cancers are the big savers of the zodiac. In fact, when it comes to net worth, Cancers have been known to amass quite a fortune. Consider, for example, the wealth of Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Nelson Rockefeller, Bill Cosby, Leona Helmsley, Vera Wang, and Merv Griffin.

True, the Crab lacks the physical force of the Ram, the stamina of the Bull, the regal bearing of the Lion, and the sting of the Scorpion, but so what? After all, one soon grows weary from having to sustain strenuous activity, maintain sizable egos and obtain numerous antidotes.

Plus, Cancer's ability to soothe and protect us when we need it the most goes a long way to help us forgive their bouts of crabbiness and lunar madness.

Yes, they tend to be frugal, but that’s why they always have food in their fridge, money in their bank accounts and love in their hearts.

TRANSITING VENUS IN GEMINI

June 22 - July 17, 2022

Like Mercury, Venus presides over two signs in the zodiac. As it happens, her second home is the airy abode of Libra, which gives her a natural rapport with fellow air signs Gemini and Aquarius. Consequently, Venus is comfortable in the sign of the Twins where she works every room and charms the rest of the zodiac with her witty repartee.

As the sign that presides over the mind, Gemini is curious about everything and everyone. It’s also restless and craves variety. Consequently, while Venus is here, she behaves much like the bee that samples the nectar of a variety of blossoms while keeping an eye out for more tempting delights.

So yes, she can be flirtatious as well as a bit fickle, but it’s not because she’s cold or uncaring. It’s just that air signs are social creatures, and in their mind they’re not flirting; they’re just making polite conversation. As for being hard to pin down, that’s because Venus in Gemini is often indecisive.

When it comes to love, as long as she’s immersed in the sign of intellect, her heart will follow her head. In other words, romantic attraction begins in her mind and works it way down her body. Those who excel in conversation will capture her attention, provided of course they don’t want to talk about their (or her) feelings. If your idea of expressing affection involves talking about feelings, save yourself some heartache and find another goddess.

Venus also rules money, and in keeping with Gemini’s well-known duality, her attitude towards its tends to alternate between easy come, easy go and Ms. Cheapskate depending upon how much (or how little) cash she has at the moment. When she’s flushed, she can be a spendthrift; when funds are tight, she can be downright stingy. While in this intellectual sign, Venus tends to spend her hard-earned cash on experiences that stimulate the mind, and even when her chips are low, she’ll always manage to come up with enough money for a ticket to that fascinating film, must-read book or coffee with a friend.

When Venus is in Gemini, life and love doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive or the best quality.

It just has to be interesting.

Everything else is gravy.
