Dear Stargazers,

Thank you for the wonderful response to my last podcast episode, "Practical Solutions to Spiritual Problems." This is a spiritual lesson that many of you (and me) came here to learn, and I'm happy to know that you found it helpful.

In addition to Apple (iTunes),  Shortcut to the Soul is also now available on Stitcher and GooglePlay

Astrologically speaking, the biggest story is the upcoming lunar eclipse on July 27, and judging by your emails, many of you are already feeling its volatility at home, on the job and in the headlines. That's not surprising, because it's common for lunar eclipse-related events to occur up to a month (+/-)  before the eclipse actually takes place.

With that in mind, let's take a peek at what the stars have in store for us.
PLANETARY FORECAST
July 23 - August 5
PLANETARY EVENTS

July 26:  Transiting Mercury stations retrograde
July 27:  Lunar eclipse in Aquarius

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

July 30
Aug. 5

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

July 24, 26, 27, 29
Aug. 1

NOTABLE ASPECTS

For guidance about these aspects, visit Facebook or Twitter the day before the aspect. Why the day before? Because that's when the energy starts building and the influence starts making itself known. Once the aspect is exact, the energy is released and the influence fades.

July 24: Venus opposes Neptune
July 25: Sun square Uranus
July 27: Sun oppose Mars
July 27: Venus trine Pluto
Aug. 01: Mars square Uranus

Apr. 29: Sun trine Saturn
May 06: Sun sextile Neptune
MERCURY RETROGRADE IN LEO

Mercury will station retrograde in Leo on July 25 (CT/MT/PT) / July 26 (ET). It will go direct on August 18 (CT/MT/PT) / August 19 (ET).

FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE
4°45' AQUARIUS
JULY 27, 2018 | 4:20 PM
WASHINGTON, DC

A lunar eclipse occurs during a full moon, which means it's associated with bringing something to light, to fruition or to an end.

Although this eclipse is in Aquarius, the sign of brotherhood, you can expect egos and emotions to be in overdrive because it's part of a T-Square. In and of itself, a T-square is a tense pattern that often coincides with challenging circumstances.

In this case, its nature is a potentially explosive one because:

→ it's a total lunar eclipse (more powerful than a partial one)
→ the moon (emotions) is tightly conjunct Mars (anger);
→ the sun (ego) is tightly opposing Mars (also an ego-driven planet);
→ the sun and moon are both receiving a square from Uranus (inflammatory); and
→ it's the longest lunar eclipse of this century (1 hour, 23 minutes).

If you have planets or sensitive points around 4-5° of any sign, this eclipse will aspect (connect with) them in some way. However, if they happen to be in Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio, this eclipse is likely to coincide with an external event.

(For more about aspects, click here to listen to my podcast, Eclipse Aspects to Natal Planets.)

Whether it turns out to be a blindside or a dream come true will depend on your personal chart, as well as where you are in life. Eclipses often act as course correctors, so if you've wandered too far away from your soul's path, this eclipse could coincide with events that will get you back on track.

But what about Mars being retrograde? Won't that diffuse the energy?

It's true that Mars is backpedaling and its energy isn't quite as strong. However, its retrograde motion hasn't taken away its ability to act as a trigger.

Now, there is one energy that could delay events, and that's Mercury retrograde. Astrological theory holds that when Mercury is retrograde during a new moon or solar eclipse, new beginnings may be delayed; and when it's retrograde during a full moon or lunar eclipse, results may be delayed.

Given the intensity of this lunar eclipse, I expect a big event to occur, because we've already seen a few in the headlines as far back as a month ago. As I discuss in Thursday's upcoming podcast, a month before this eclipse (June 26), the Supreme Court upheld the travel ban, and the eclipse's influence can be seen in the USA's chart.

Likewise, on June 26, in what was a stunning upset in the Democrat primaries, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year old member of the Democratic Socialists of America with no political experience, defeated a 10-term incumbent. Since that time (and not discussed in the podcast), we've seen a surge in the number of public Democratic Socialists, as well as calls for medicare for all, free college education and a universal living wage.

In astrology, Aquarius and its ruler Uranus rule socialism. The lunar eclipse falls across the 2/8 houses in the USA's horoscope. The second house (which holds the Aquarius moon) is about the nation's wealth and resources; the 8th house (which holds the Leo Sun) is about national debt, insurance, social security and entitlements. Uranus (upsets) rules the nation's 3rd house (communications, the press) is squaring the eclipse.

I could discuss several more political events (here and abroad) that are connected to this lunar eclipse, but I think I've made my point.

That said, it's not unreasonable that the influence of Mercury retrograde will hold something back, but whether it does or it doesn't, this lunar eclipse may still be a ticking time bomb that explodes at a later date.

The days to watch are August 27-28 (one month after the eclipse and the day Mars stations direct) and also September 24-28, when transiting Mars (which will go direct on August 27) will trigger the eclipse point.
Getting Personal

A lunar eclipse occurs during a full moon, and a full moon occurs when the Sun and Moon form an aspect known as an opposition. The house that holds the Moon is where the action is in your chart, and something related to one (or more) of the life areas ruled by it may come to light, to fruition or to an end. Since a full moon falls across two houses, it's important to consider the life areas of the house that holds the sun as well.

If you don't know which house holds 4°45' Aquarius in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the full moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart).

If your Sun Sign is:

Aries, the full moon falls in your solar 11th house of goals, casual friends, colleagues and group relationships. Read the 5th house as well.

Releasing with the Aquarius Lunar Eclipse

Once the full moon (or lunar eclipse) peaks and the matter is concluded, it's over and the next step is to release any attachment to it. You can release anything under any full moon, but since this one is a lunar eclipse and saturated in Aquarius energy, it's especially helpful for releasing:

Negative beliefs or fears connected to your hopes, goals, casual friends, peers, colleagues and group relationships.

Traits or tendencies
to be
eccentric, callous, detached, rebellious, unpredictable or condescending.
Last Words

My practice consistently grows through referrals, but with the release of the new podcast, I'm getting even busier.  If you'd like to get on my schedule for an astrology or mediumship reading before the summer is over, I recommend you as soon as possible.

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,

Debra Anne Clement
