Subject: The Calm Before the Storm ✩ Jupiter Retrograde & More!

Dear Stargazers,

The heavens are quiet this week, but make no mistake: This is the calm before the storm.

What storm? The one that's coming on June 5th in the form of a lunar eclipse at 15°34' Sagittarius that squares Mars (action, anger) and falls on the Ascendant of the USA's horoscope (Sibley chart).

The question is will it rain down destruction, or will it bring much needed illumination?

Since lunar eclipses often bring things to light and Sagittarius rules truth, political beliefs and publishing, it seems likely that some type of revelation or major announcement will dominate the headlines. If so, who's likely to be in the spotlight?

Well, at 15°34' Sagittarius, the lunar eclipse falls in the charts of those who are already in the spotlight:
  • Donald Trump's natal 4th house and opposes his 10th house Uranus at 17°53' Gemini
  • Joe Biden's natal first house and squares his 4th and 10th houses (19°54' Pisces/Virgo)
  • Andrew Cuomo's solar first house (no birth time) and lands directly on his natal Sun-Saturn conjunction (at 14° and 15° respectively)
  • Stacey Abram's solar 1st house (no birth time) and conjuncts her Sun at 17°31 Sagittarius
Of course, this list is far from exhaustive. It could be connected to someone else or there could be major news connected to all of them. For now, we wait and stay tuned to see how this eclipse will play out on the national (and/or international level). I'll be back next week with more, including how this lunar eclipse is likely to influence your life!

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

May 25

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility

TRANSITING MERCURY IN CANCER
MAY 28 - AUGUST 4, 2020
May 28 - June 17 Direct
June 18 - July 12 Retrograde

Although he loved being in Gemini, Mercury’s restless spirit inspired him to leave the comfort of his own sign and continue to explore the rest of the zodiac. As it happened, the next stop on his celestial itinerary would put his renowned adaptability to the test as he spent the next few weeks drenched in the sensitive, intuitive and emotional waters that Cancer calls home.

An intellectual in every sense of the word, Mercury filters the world through an analytical lens and experiences life through the head. In contrast, Cancer views the world through an intuitive lens and experiences life through the heart.

And therein lies the problem, because while logic, intellect and reason enjoy an open door policy with Mercury, the Crab’s feelings, sentiments and passions are met with a “Do Not Disturb” sign. As a result, Mercury finds conversations under Cancer’s roof uncomfortable.

Although the airy sign of Mercury may feel he’s drowning the first time he’s drenched in Cancer’s emotions. However, once he catches his breath and realizes that his head is securely above the water, curiosity will get the better of him, and he’ll adapt to his environment.

One of the first things Mercury realizes is that though their style may differ, both he and the Crab have a reputation for being changeable. Just as he is repeatedly accused of being fickle by the rest of the zodiac, Cancer is routinely described as being moody. As a result of this shared experience, he feels a sense of camaraderie with his neighboring sign, and to his surprise, this type of feeling actually feels quite good.

Eager to learn more, Mercury dives in and starts to experiment by blending his intellect with Cancer’s diverse set of Moon-inspired emotions. As he does so, he comes to understand that the lesson here isn’t just to strike a balance between logic and emotion; it’s about reconciling intellect with intuition so they can work together in a most productive partnership.

By the time his visit here has come to a close, Mercury will be ready to wring out his clothes, polish up his wings and head towards the warmth of the Sun. As luck would have it, his next stop is Leo, where he can bask in its glow as he proudly expresses his newfound insights.

Closing Thoughts

We celebrate Memorial Day to honor those who served and sacrificed for our country.

May they rest in peace, may their family be comforted and may their sacrifices never be in vain.

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
