Dear Stargazers,

The transiting lunar nodes changed signs on May 5. Although I was aware of it, I forgot to write about it in the newsletter so have included it in this one.

Also, for those who are interested, Stonehenge will live stream its entire summer solstice event for free on Facebook's @englishheritage page. You can click here for more information.

PLANETARY FORECAST
June 14 - 21

All dates are given in the Eastern Time zone.

PLANETARY EVENTS

June 18:  Mercury stations retrograde
June 20:  Summer/Winter Solstice
June 21:  Solar eclipse in Cancer

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

June 17

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

June 21

NOTABLE ASPECTS

June 18:  Mars sextile Pluto
June 20:  Mars sextile Jupiter
TRANSITING LUNAR NODES

On May 5, the transiting lunar nodes moved into Gemini and Sagittarius where they'll remain until January 2022.

When the lunar nodes change signs, they introduce a needed shift in the collective consciousness.

The north node shows us where we need to grow, and the south node shows us what we need to downplay or perhaps release in order to do so.

Gemini represents data, research, facts and proof, which is why the sign of The Twins signify the concrete mind.
In contrast, Sagittarius represents theories, philosophies and belief systems, which is why the sign of The Archer signifies the abstract mind.

While the north node is in Gemini, we're being asked to question what we hear and read, listen to every side and conduct our own research. Although Gemini can be restless, its planetary ruler Mercury is detail oriented and precise. From now until January 19, 2022, we're collectively being asked to read the fine print, listen to what's said, pay attention to what's omitted and reach our own conclusions based on facts.

If that's what we're being asked to embrace, then what are we being asked to release?

We're being asked to release traits of Sagittarius (the shadow side) that can interfere with determining the truth of any matter, such as impatience, carelessness, arrogance, exaggeration, self-righteousness, fanaticism and hypocrisy (not practicing what you preach).
MERCURY STATIONS RETROGRADE
JUNE 18 |12:53 AM EDT

From June 18 - July 12, Mercury will be retrograde in Cancer.

Since Cancer is a sentimental sign, many of us may find ourselves longing for the good old days, reminiscing about our younger days or wondering whatever became of old friends.
SUMMER | WINTER SOLSTICE
June 20, 2020 | 5:44 PM EDT

The June solstice occurs when the transiting Sun enters Cancer, and here in the northern hemisphere, it marks the longest day and the beginning of summer.

In the southern hemisphere, the June solstice marks the shortest day and the beginning of winter.  It ushers in a time to withdraw into our homes, look within, connect with our higher selves and appreciate the stillness.

Whether you're in the northern or southern hemisphere, one thing is the same: it's time to wish everyone born under the Cancer Sun a happy solar return!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CANCER!

Your nurturing spirit, protective nature and deep understanding that we're all connected is why everyone who crosses your path feels like a member of your tribe.

With an intuitive mind, tender soul and open arms, you're here to show us that home is where the heart is.
ANNULAR ECLIPSE AT 0°21' CANCER
June 21, 2020 | 2:42 AM
Washington, DC

Since a solar eclipse occurs during a new moon, it's associated with new beginnings. However, it can also bring about an ending if there's something that needs to be cleared away before something new can take root.

New beginnings can occur on an external level, such as a new job or relationship, or they can occur on an internal level such as a new idea or fresh perspective.

This month's annular solar eclipse takes place in Cancer, the sign that rules one's home, family and heritage in the individual horoscope; and in the mundane horoscope, rules the public, patriotic inclinations of the public and the political party that's in opposition to a nation's ruler or governing party.

In terms of aspects, the only aspect to this eclipse is a quincunx from Saturn, a minor aspect that suggests discomfort, awkwardness and a need for adjustment.  However, the quincunx's tight orb (less than 1°), coupled with absence of any other aspect, elevates its influence on the eclipse.

Quincunxes occur between planets in signs that lack natural compatibility by element (fire, air, earth or water) and modality (cardinal, fixed, mutable). Since they lack common ground, they don't blend well. As a result, the respective planetary energies involved in the quincunx aren't fully integrated into the chart and require adjustments to do so.

So what can we expect from Saturn in Aquarius's quincunx to the solar eclipse?

Let's start by breaking down the planets and signs involved:

Saturn (government, limitation, prejudice) in Aquarius (freedom, protests, social justice)
Sun (free will, fun, self-expression, fun) and Moon (the public, heritage) in Cancer (emotions, home, family)

Given the foregoing, we can expect certain Covid-19 government-imposed restrictions (Saturn) limiting public gatherings (Moon) to be renewed (eclipse while mercury is retrograde) in many areas. This will require adjustments (quincunx) by those who were hoping to host family gatherings or July 4th celebrations (Cancer), and will be a source of emotional discomfort for those in professions (e.g., real estate, restaurants, personal services) deeply affected by the closures/restrictions.

On a completely different note, the aspect from Saturn (prejudice) in Aquarius (protests) to the Cancer (the public, heritage) solar eclipse suggests this eclipse will speak to the need to find common ground (quincunx) before any real progress for social justice can be made.
Getting Personal

This month's new moon at 0°21' of Cancer is also a solar eclipse, which means its energy is intensified and therefore longer lasting. Those of you with a planet, angle or house cusp at or near 0°21' of any sign will be on the receiving end of eclipse energy, but you're much more likely to feel it if that planet, point or cusp is in Cancer, Capricorn, Aries or Libra.

If you don't know which house holds 0°21' of Cancer in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, it falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents).
Taurus, it falls in your solar 3rd house (siblings, neighbors, short trips, cars, contracts, negotiations.)
Gemini, it falls in your 2nd house (income, spending, personal values, self-esteem, tangible assets).
Cancer, it falls in your 1st house (your physical body, attitude towards life).
Leo, it falls in your 12th house (spirituality, creativity, mental health, addictions).
Virgo, it falls in your 11th house (groups, associations, hopes, casual friends, colleagues).
Libra, it falls in your 10th house (career, fame, status, reputation).
Scorpio, it falls in your 9th house (education, law, religion, foreign and long-distance travel, publishing).
Sagittarius, it falls in your 8th house (intimacy, shared resources, other people's support, birth, death, estate matters).
Capricorn, it falls in your 7th house (marriage and all one-to-one relationships including best friends, adversaries, business partners and clients).
Aquarius, it falls in your 6th house (health, work, pets, diet, nutrition).
Pisces, it falls in your 5th house (romance, children, creative self-expression, entertainment).

Manifesting with the Cancer Solar Eclipse

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's a solar eclipse, it's energy is more powerful. As it happens, this solar eclipse is in Cancer, which favors:

Actions and affirmations to improve family relationships and domestic affairs; purchase, sell, rent or improve a residence, office or any other type of real property; find skillful caretakers, plumbers, obstetricians and landscapers.

*With Mercury retrograde, new beginnings are apt to be delayed or may experience false starts.
Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
