Subject: Rare Solar Eclipse • A Big Announcement • Weekly Forecast & More!

Dear Stargazers,

Besides kicking off a new cycle of Aries-Libra eclipses, this month's solar eclipse is a rare one because it's a hybrid eclipse, which is something we haven't seen in 10 years.

The reason it's called a hybrid eclipse is because it starts and ends as an annular eclipse (ring of fire) but in between it's a total eclipse. You can click here to learn more about the astronomy of a hybrid eclipse, and you can click here to listen to my of you might be interested in listening to my oldie but goodie Eclipse Aspects to Natal Planets podcast.

Speaking of the eclipse, last I wrote that I have a big eclipse-related announcement to share with you. It will be posted on my website this week, but because you subscribe to my newsletter, I'm sharing it with you first.

The announcement is at the end of the newsletter, along with a link to a video lesson showing the connection between the decision and the eclipse (which I didn't realize until days after I made it).

But first, let's take a look at what the universe has in store for us this week.

ASTROLOGY FORECAST

April 17 - 23, 2023

All dates and times are given in EDT.

Monday, April 17. The overall energy today is good, but the influence of the transiting moon in Pisces isn't the most motivating one and could inspire procrastination. On that note, if there's anything on your to-do list where a definite outcome is important today, it's best to get it done before the moon goes void at 2:58 PM (it ends at 9:10 PM).

Tuesday, April 18. If you delayed taking action on something yesterday, today's transiting Moon in Aries is an excellent influence for making things happen. However, when evening rolls around some of you could fall prey to kneejerk reactions as the Moon tangles with Mars from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Wednesday, April 19. Yesterday's proactive energy is still in effect, but some of you may feel a sense of urgency as the transiting Aries Moon creeps closer to the eclipse point. However, with Mercury coming to a standstill as it prepares to station retrograde on Friday, it's especially important to look before you leap.

Thursday, April 20. Although there's no getting away from today's tense solar-eclipse related energy (detailed insights below), the transiting Sun's ingress (entry) into Taurus adds a tiny bit of calm to it. Scroll down for eclipse insights.

Friday, April 21. The big news today is that Mercury officially stations retrograde in Taurus at 4:26 AM. (Click here for a Mercury retrograde refresher and scroll down for insights into making the most of this cycle.) Although the transiting Moon in Taurus will contribute some stability to the day, early risers should be aware that things could be bumpy from 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM when the Moon connects with Uranus.

Saturday, April 22. The tempo of life starts to pick up once the transiting Moon enters the friendly, curious sign of Gemini at 6:12 AM. Social activities and intellectual pursuits are favored, and as long as you're mindful of the retrograde influence when it comes to directions and miscommunications, this can be a very pleasant day.

Sunday, April 23. This is the best day of the week. Thanks to the transiting Moon-Venus conjunction in Gemini and Mercury-Mars sextile, it's an especially good one for socializing with friends. It's also favorable for expressing your feelings, thoughts and opinions. Of course, with Mercury Rx there could always be an misunderstanding, but if so, the camaraderie between Mercury and Mars suggests that it's easily resolved.

HYBRID SOLAR ECLIPSE AT 29°50 ARIES

April 20, 2023 • 12:14 AM

Besides being a rare Hybrid eclipse, this month's solar eclipse is noteworthy because it kicks off a new cycle of eclipses in Aries and Libra that will shift the energetic focus from resources to relationships, a theme that will become more prominent once the transiting lunar nodes move into Aries and Libra on July 17.

Looking at the aspects, a tight square (action) to Pluto (trasformation) says this eclipse is infused with the potential for radical change. However, whether that change brings a dream come true or an wanted situation remains to be seen.

While it's true that squares usually represent challenges, in my 30 years of practice I have never seen a major achievement occur without one. The same aspect that cuts us off at our knees is also the one that propels us to stardom, so much will depend on your personal horoscope and any aspects the eclipse is making to it.

Either way, with Mercury making its retrograde station roughly 24 hours later, it's possible for eclipse-related events to be delayed, and if something does occur, the odds are high that we won't have all the facts.

The Anaretic Degree

What also distinguishes this eclipse is that it's the second new moon in the sign of the Ram, and it occurs at the final degree of the sign.

Whereas the first one was at 0° (the creation point), this one is at 29°, which is the completion point. That means that while the solar eclipse is about a beginning, there is a greater likelihood that something may need to end before something new begins.

In astrology, 29° is known as the Anaretic Degree, and many astrologers (myself included) view it as a degree of Fate.

Personally, whenever I see a planet or sensitive point in the natal horoscope at 29°, I know it is tied to an important soul lesson.

If you happen to have a planet or sensitive point in your chart at 29° degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, or at 0° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, your horoscope will be strongly activated by this eclipse.

However, if it is at 29° there's likely to be some type of a destiny moment at hand. They don't always come as an obvious do-or-die moment or a now-or-never opportunity. Some of them come as a quiet personal decision, but no matter what form it takes, it is a major turning point in your life that will have a direct bearing on your soul's evolutionary growth.

Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the house in your horoscope that's hosting this solar eclipse.

If you don't know which house holds exactly 29°50' of Aries in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the new moon falls according to your rising sign (if you know it). If you don't know your rising sign, then refer to the list below according to your solar (sun-sign based) horoscope.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, it falls in your 1st house (your physical body, attitude and approach to life).

Taurus, it falls in your 12th house (spirituality, privacy, solitude, mental health, addictions, creativity).

Gemini, it falls in your 11th house (group relationships, associations, hopes, wishes, casual friends, colleagues).

Cancer, it falls in your 10th house (career, fame, status, reputation).

Leo, it falls in your 9th house (education, law, religion, foreign dealings, long-distance travel, media, publishing).

Virgo, it falls in your 8th house (intimacy, shared resources, other people's support, birth, death, taxes, estates, occult matters.

Libra, it falls in your 7th house (marriage and all one-to-one relationships including best friends, adversaries, business partners and clients).

Scorpio, it falls in your 6th house (health, work, employees, pets, diet, exercise, nutrition).

Sagittarius, it falls in your 5th house (romance, children, creative self-expression, gambling, hobbies, entertainment).

Capricorn, it falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents).

Aquarius, it falls in your 3rd house (siblings, neighbors, short trips, cars, contracts, negotiations.).

Pisces, it falls in your 2nd house earned income, saving and spending, personal values, self-esteem, tangible assets).

Manifesting with the Aries Solar Eclipse

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's an Aries eclipse, it's especially favorable for:

Actions, intentions and affirmations to promote your personal interests and ambitions, strengthen your body, enhance your physical appearance and increase your energy, confidence, courage, leadership and self-motivation.

On April 21, Mercury will station retrograde in Taurus, where he will be spend the next few weeks reviewing and reevaluating the Bull's finances, possessions and values.

Given today's uncertain economy, we would do well to use this time to reexamine our resources, review our financial security and reconsider our budgets and material goals. And since Taurus rules values, it wouldn't hurt to reflect upon our feelings of self-worth.

Should we decide that changes are needed, we can count on this energy to support our efforts to research information that will help us implement changes after Mercury goes direct.

CELEBRATING THE BULL

Happy birthday to everyone born under the Taurus Sun!

As the second (and most stable) sign of the zodiac, you're here to show us how to establish priorities, earn our way, honor our worth and appreciate the good life.

Wishing each one of you a brilliant solar return!

MY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

During that time, the newsletter will continue on a weekly basis, and you can expect more podcast episodes, as well as workshop and/or class opportunities.

I am announcing it here first to give those of you who were planning to book a reading with me first dibs on the remaining dates/times that are still available in May.

This announcement is scheduled to be posted on my website on Wednesday. Should you purchase an astrology reading with me between now and Wednesday (in other words, by the end of the day on Tuesday), I will guarantee you an appointment in May. If I am unable to accommodate you in May, you will be offered the choice of an appointment in early June or a full refund.

As always, you can book a reading with one of my certified astrologers, and if you need help choosing the best one for you, just email me and I'll be happy to guide you.

My Decision and the Influence of the Eclipse

For some time now, transiting Pluto has been squaring my natal Jupiter, and I've done my best to work with this energy to transform my work/routine into one that would allow me the time to accomplish goals that have been on the back burner for far too long.

Then along came the eclipse energy, and everything changed in the blink of an eye. Not only that, but it did so in true Aries (I AM) fashion, because I am the one who made this decision, and I did so without contemplation or hesitancy. As I wrote above, I believe 29° is a degree of fate and for me, this was a now or never moment.

For those of you who are interested in seeing how the influence of this eclipse speaks to this decision (and turning point) in my horoscope, click this link to view a private YouTube video of the analysis.

Well, that wraps it up for this week's newsletter. See you next week!

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,

Debra Anne Clement
