Dear Stargazers,

Although the week begins on a tense note, it ends on a lovely one, and the overall week is a quiet one. In contrast, next week is chock full of planetary activity (see the the very end of the newsletter for a preview of what's ahead).

But before we get there, transiting Mars moves into Virgo and Mercury moves into Leo. How will these planetary changes affect you? As always, you'll find the answers below!

ASTROLOGY FORECAST
JULY 10 - 16, 2023
All dates and times are given in EDT.

Monday, July 10. Although by no means inevitable, the influence of today's Mercury-Pluto opposition combined with the assertive influence of the transiting Aries Moon could put you on the offensive if you feel someone isn't treating you well or has crossed a personal boundary. If so, these influences can help you get to the heart of the matter and resolve it in a productive and amicable manner, but only if you avoid getting sucked in by the Aries Moon's need-to-win energy as it tangles with Pluto and Mercury during the afternoon hours.

On a different note, if you have a project that requires attention to detail or a deadline that you need to meet, you can count on the energy of transiting Aries Moon to help galvanize you to action and the influence of the Mercury-Pluto opposition to help you concentrate and get the job done.

Once the transiting Moon enters Taurus at 7:56 PM, it's time to relax, unwind and completely let go of any remaining tension from the day.

Tuesday, July 11. This is an excellent day to take some time to focus on self-care. Whether it's making an appointment for a haircut, enjoying a good meal, being alone with your thoughts or simply getting some fresh air, you'll benefit from focusing on what makes you feel good. This will be especially helpful if you've been feeling anxious or stuck lately, because as you nourish your mind/body/spirit, you will begin to experience an overall sense of calm and stability.

Wednesday, July 12. Although there's a chance of a sudden or unexpected change of plans in the afternoon or early evening, the overall energy of the day is productive. This is a good day to visit your to-do lists (professional and personal) and focus your attention on shortening it.

Thursday, July 13. The pace begins to quicken after the transiting Moon enters Gemini (3:26 AM) and due to a conflict with Mars, early risers may feel restless or on edge as they begin the day. Fortunately, by 8:00 AM this influence has flown, and although there's a potential for some type of delay between 1:00 - 3:00 PM, the rest of the day is favorable for communications, brainstorming and social activities.

Friday, July 14. Today's positive flow of energy between the Sun and Uranus will support your efforts to make changes in your life, especially ones that will allow for more personal freedom and self-expression. On a different note, if you're in need of inspiration today, this influence can stimulate your creative juices.

Saturday, July 15. A void moon from 8:36 AM - 1:14 PM suggests that the best use of the morning hours will be to spend it on routine matters, spiritual practices, socializing or any activity where a definite result isn't desired. Once the Moon enters Cancer (1:14 PM), you could find yourself in the mood for company and initiate (or accept) an impromptu invitation.

Sunday, July 16. The week ends on a relaxing note thanks to the tender influence of the transiting Cancer Moon. While this is an excellent day to unwind, nurture your garden (or anyone or anything else!) or work on home improvement projects, the transiting Moon's aspects to Saturn and Jupiter will support activities that can enhance your sense of security.

TRANSITING MARS IN VIRGO

July 10 - August 27, 2023

As the natural ruler of Aries, Mars is a fiery, ego-driven planet that is used to leadership roles and public recognition for his accomplishments.

Given his nature, you can imagine his reaction when he realized that as long as he was under the Maiden’s roof, he was expected to serve, not lead. After all, Mars isn't known for his humility. He's known for his desire to be number one.

And that's why after the initial shock wore off, Mars decided that if he had to be a supporting player, he would be the best one in the cosmos.

As the sixth sign of the Zodiac, Virgo is known for its efficiency, diligence, service and healing gifts, as well as its remarkable ability to restore order to chaos. When it comes to crisis management and work ethics, it's hard to outdo the Maiden.

While Mars is here, he has his work cut out for him as he strives to not just meet, but exceed the Maiden's high expectations. However, it's no secret that Mars loves a challenge, and so he rises to the occasion as a tireless worker with a strong sense of duty who doesn't stop until the job is done.

That isn't to say that there aren't some bumps along the way.

Despite his good intentions, while in Virgo Mars can be judgmental, impatient and easily annoyed with anyone who falls short of (what are now) his high expectations, and he skewers those who incur his wrath with sarcastic comments and mean-spirited barbs.

Finally, although he experiences a genuine sense of fulfillment from serving, organizing and healing, Mars still has an ego that demands to be satisfied. Luckily, it doesn't take much to soothe it, because when he’s in the sign of the Maiden, all he wants for his efforts is a little appreciation.

That's why many of you will be quicker to speak about matters that are important to you. In fact, if you tend to be reluctant to ask for what you want, this influence is just what the cosmos ordered.

On another note, since Leo rules creativity, romance and all joyful pursuits, while Mercury is in this playful sign, you can bet he's enthusiastic about having fun.

Likewise, while some of you may be more focused on romance or creative endeavors now, many of you pursue hobbies, interests and whatever forms of entertainment that bring you pleasure.

Like all things, there is a potential downside to this influence. Not only can Mercury in Leo be bossy, but as the planetary ruler of the mind, he can also be a narcissist.

However, if you consciously tap into Leo's generous and heart-centered energy, you won't have to worry about encountering its shadow side.

Instead, Mercury's visit in Leo will feel as happy as the first day of summer vacation after a long, hard school year.
