Subject: New Moon • More Jupiter in Taurus Insights • Your Weekly Astrology Forecast!

Dear Stargazers,

There's a lovely new moon on June 19, but the big news this week is that Jupiter enters Taurus on May 16 and wasting no time, it squares Pluto the very next day.

This aspect has been in effect from May 12, and after it peaks on May 17, its influence will continue to be felt until it has completely separated. When you break it down, you can see it speaks to the current debt crisis:

Jupiter (expansion) in Taurus (money) square (at odds with) Pluto (debt) in Aquarius (Congress).

I talk about this aspect in the second podcast below, which focuses on the influence of Jupiter in Taurus on the collective level.

ASTROLOGY FORECAST
MAY 15 - 21, 2023
All dates and times are given in EDT.

Monday, May 15. If you feel more inclined to help others or put their needs ahead of your own, you're likely channeling the energy of today's Mars-Neptune trine. This influence not only tempers the me-centric vibe of the transiting Aries Moon but encourages it to slow down, which is why some of you may feel inclined to take it a bit easy today. This aspect also promotes vision, making it a a good day for creative projects and spiritual practices.

Tuesday, May 16. If you feel you took things too easy yesterday or feel you need to catch up on attending to your own needs, you can count on the influence of the unfettered transiting Aries Moon to provide a strong dose of motivation. On a different note, transiting Jupiter enters Taurus, where it will spend the next year focusing its energies on second house matters.

Wednesday, May 17. As Jupiter squares Pluto, many of you will experience a strong desire to succeed in some area of your life. This is all well and good, but you need to be mindful of biting off more than you can chew. It's important to remain above board in all of your dealings, because if not, there could be legal repercussions down the road.

Thursday, May 18. If you feel more sensitive to people, energy or your surroundings, it's because today's Sun-Neptune sextile is heightening the energy. Besides spiritual practices, this influence supports creative endeavors as does the transiting Taurus Moon.

Friday, May 19. Shortly after today's Taurus New Moon (more on that below), the transiting Moon moves into Gemini (2:49 PM). Many of you will find that the shift into this friendly, fast-moving sign lightens your mood as you head into the weekend.

Saturday, May 20. Energetically speaking, this is the toughest day of the week. With Mars opposite Pluto today, the likelihood of tension, hot tempers, confrontations and physical altercations is strong. Consequently, you'll do well to walk away from arguments, avoid sketchy neighborhoods and think twice before flipping people off because you could get more than you bargained for.

Sunday, May 21. As the transiting Sun makes its ingress into Gemini at 3:10 AM today, it makes a trine to Pluto. This energy supports creative endeavors, which includes making creative changes in your life. Even if you have nothing particular in mind, this influence is likely to inspire you to take greater control over your circumstances.

NEW MOON AT 28°25' TAURUS

MAY 19, 2023 • 11:54 AM

Since Taurus presides over the material world, in and of itself every Taurus New Moon contains seeds for increasing your financial resources.

That said, all new moons aren't created equal because while they share the same innate potential, how easily that potential is expressed depends upon the influence of the planetary aspects to them.

Happily, this month's Taurus New Moon is bolstered by Mars and Neptune, which suggests that new beginnings could come from inspired action.

So listen to your intuition, pay attention to your dreams, meditate, journal or connect with your guides or higher self. Whatever your practice, and even if there's specific practice at all, be mindful of what comes to you as you contemplate your new moon intentions.

Once you're clear on them, you can count on the grounded, practical and productive energy of the Taurus new moon to support your new beginning.

TRANSITING MARS IN LEO

May 20 - July 10, 2023

After weeks of feeling depleted while in Cancer, Mars was more than happy to exit the sign of its fall and enter the fiery, passionate and dramatic sign of Leo.

As he sauntered into the Lion’s den, Mars could feel his confidence return, his courage increase and his passion burn. Feeling a sense of pride and entitlement, he took his seat upon Leo’s throne, and a drama king was born.

While Mars is in Leo, he seeks the spotlight and wants to hear the sound of applause. He also tends to take everything personally and is quick to lash out in righteous indignation against anyone who disagrees, criticizes or opposes him. That’s why while Mars is in Leo, he can be an impatient bully who when challenged is at best combative and at worst a tyrant.

Fortunately for Mars (and everyone else), while in Leo his heart also expands, along with a fun-loving nature, unbridled generosity, creative abilities and passion for life. When Mars in Leo chooses to channel his ambition through these outlets, he achieves dazzling success in the arts, builds empires, spearheads noble causes and donates generously to those less fortunate.

Depending upon the circumstances, Mars in Leo can be a dictator or a benefactor, but whether he’s presiding over a reign of terror or a peaceable kingdom, the one thing you can count on is that he’ll never back down.
