While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there are no harsh aspects which means there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

| | NEW MOON at 15°07' SAGITTARIUS December 7, 2018 | 2:20 AM Washington, DC
Since this month's new moon takes place only 20 hours after Mercury stations direct, it's not entirely free of its influence which means your new moon intentions may take a little longer to germinate.
However, that's not the only thing influence impacting this new moon. It's also being tightly squared by a Mars-Neptune conjunction.
In addition to presiding over higher knowledge, long distance travel, legal affairs and publishing, Sagittarius the sign of truth and integrity. When it comes to truth, Sagittarius isn't known for its tact and with Mars squaring this new moon, the truth (as you or someone else sees it) may feel like it's being shot out of a cannon. With that said, some of you may do well to check your temper.
Every sign has a shadow side, and one of the Archer's less sterling qualities is that he can be prone to exaggeration, especially in the heat of the moment or as part of a knee jerk reaction. However, it's not just Mars that's squaring the new moon; there's also Neptune and it brings the potential for gossip, lies or false accusations. Add the influence of Mercury's recent station into the mix and you could wind up with an ugly situation.
When we think about new moons, we think of new beginnings in the most positive sense but the truth of the matter is that everything has a beginning.
How this new moon will influence you depends on your horoscope and your current situation. If it's making good (or neutral) aspects to your chart, and especially if the mars-neptune square at 13° Pisces is favorable or neutral to it, odds are you won't be negatively impacted by it.
If you are, it's important to think things through before your react, and if possible, wait until after this energy has completely passed. The influence of a new moon is strongest for 5 days after it occurs, and as it happens, on December 12 Mercury will move into Sagittarius (truth). From this point forward, there should be more clarity and you can expect calmer heads to prevail. |
