LUNAR ECLIPSE AT 14°58' SCORPIO
May 5, 2023 • 1:35 PM EDT
This month's Scorpio Full Moon is a penumbral eclipse, which means the Moon will only get as far as the outer part of the earth's shadow. As a result, it will look very much like a typical full moon, and its intensity will fall short of a partial or total eclipse.
Now, that doesn't mean you won't feel it. Even a typical full moon can coincide with a major impact if it connects strongly with your personal horoscope.
To that point, if you have a planet or sensitive point at or near 14-15° of Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius, you can expect to feel the influence of this eclipse quite strongly as it brings something in your life to an irrevocable and possibly surprising conclusion.
To some degree, that's true for the rest of you as well, because not only is this eclipse in the sign of radical transformation, but it is opposite Uranus. This suggests that the manner of a conclusion or ending could come about in an extreme way or through a "never saw it coming" event.
But with Mercury retrograde, will it happen now?
Generally speaking, when Mercury is retrograde during a new moon, full moon or any type of eclipse, events related to the lunation are delayed until after Mercury goes direct AND a transiting planet triggers the eclipse point by making a hard aspect to it.
In this case, Mercury goes direct on May 14 at 11:12 PM, and it is completely out of the post-retrograde shadow on May 31.
Planetary Trigger
From June 13-14, transiting Mars (action) will square the eclipse point.
If you experience an event around the time of the eclipse, its activation could bring an additional event that will likely be related to the first.
And, if you didn't experience an event around the time it happens, it's very likely that you will experience one around this time.
