Dear Fellow Stargazers,

This past Monday I was a guest on Cosmic Tuesdays. It was great to be back on the air, and thanks to the outstanding host and astrologer, Anthony Picco, the conversation flowed and it was a lot of fun. If you missed the interview, no problem! You can catch all the fun by click here to listen/download the interview.

For those of you who live or work in the NYC metro area, Anthony is also the organizer/host of the NYC Astrology Meetup Group that meets monthly at the Quest Book Store in Manhattan. Check it out; you might want to join this group of astrology buffs (and you may even see this astrologer lecturing there in the future).
In the meantime, I'd like to wish those of you born under Leo a very Happy Birthday, and say that your remarkable will power, passionate nature and impressive talents are appreciated and needed in today's world. True, your constant need to be in the spotlight means you can be high maintenance, but as a brilliant child of the Sun, we’re happy to bask in your glow.  Although the rest of the signs may hate to admit it, Leo is the star of the zodiac. Read More>>
Finally, not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask my opinion about who's going to be the next president. I know many of you are eager to hear my astrological opinion, and I will be discussing the charts of the nominees and the energies to their charts in the future. For today, I'm focusing on the upcoming planetary influences that are heading your way. That said, let's get started!
Uranus and Social Change

Before I discuss the meaning of Uranus stationing retrograde (see below), it's notable that the day before the planet associated with equality, liberation and social progress paused to station retrograde, Hillary Clinton made history by breaking the nation's highest glass ceiling as she accepted her party's nomination for President.

Although other women previously ran for President, she's the first one to run as the nominee of a major party. (Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to do so as Vice-President in 1984; it would be another 14 years until Sarah Palin would do so in 2008.) Love her or loathe her, born under the determined (and often obsessive) sign of Scorpio, she never took her eyes off of the prize. Scorpio is the sign of transformational change, and Hillary Clinton changed history to her story; and make no mistake about it, somewhere Pluto is still smiling.
Planets on the Move

July 29th: Uranus Stationed Rx at 24° Aries

From December 29th, Uranus will be moving backwards through Aries.Whenever a planet is retrograde, its energies are best used introspectively. Since Uranus is known as the Great Awakener and it's immersed in the sign of the self, this period of time supports personal breakthroughs in consciousness. Now, it's true that just like the lightning it rules, Uranus inspiration can strike out of the blue, but it's just as true that Uranus can be hit or miss (and when it comes to romance, hit and run!)

For that reason, I encourage you to tap into the action-oriented energy of Aries and do some soul searching in connection to any circumstance or relationship that interferes with your higher purpose and/or limits you in any way. This is the time to ask yourself bold questions, and if need be, face some unfaltering truths. The road to enlightenment isn't always easy, but the rewards are great. Before you move forward to liberate yourself in the external world, Uranus demands that you overthrow any personal thoughts, beliefs or patterns that have held you hostage. In short, the mutiny begins within.

July 30th:  Mercury enters Virgo

Mercury just entered Virgo for an extended stay (7.5 weeks) that will include a few weeks of retrograde motion. Click here to learn more about Mercury's earthy side and his lengthy stay in the Maiden's sixth house of self-improvement. August 2: Mars Moves into Sagittarius

As the planetary ruler of pioneers and trailblazers, Mars is very much at home in Sagittarius because it is the natural ruler of explorers, distant journeys and long voyages. In fact, whenever the planet of action visits the sign of wanderlust, he keeps his options open and his passport close at hand. Read more >>

August 2:  New Moon in Leo

The new moon occurs when the sun and moon form an aspect known in astrology as a conjunction. To put it simply, it occurs when the sun and moon reach the exact same degree of the same zodiac sign. Since the sun is presently in Leo, this month's new moon occurs at 11°(technically 10°58' but we round up). (which we

New moons offer a monthly opportunity to plant intentions and initiate activities under an energy that promotes growth. While all new moons favor any type of new beginning, the energy of a Leo new moon is especially beneficial for inviting romance into your life. There's an enthusiastic energy that supports new starts connected to social events, children and new interests involving entertainment, sports and hobbies. As the sign of creative self-expression, this new moon favors artistic and creative pursuits, including pregnancy.

What's nice about this particular new moon is that it's supported by a positive flow of energy from saturn that promotes stability. This lovely contact from Saturn is just what this new moon needs to fortify it against minor but potentially fearful energies from Neptune and Pluto. If you happen to experience feelings of doubt or insecurity around this new moon, and especially in connection with your new moon intentions, these two planets are likely the source of it. Just take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that just as this new moon is under Saturn's protection, so are your intentions.

August 5th:  Venus enters Virgo

When Venus is in Virgo, she's in the sign of her fall, which means her energy is depleted. So how does the goddess of love fare in the sign of the maiden? Click here to learn how Venus makes the most of Virgo energy, because it'll work for you too.
Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
