Subject: Jupiter in Aries • Lunar Eclipse • Mercury Retrograde • Weekly Forecast & More

Dear Stargazers,

There are major energetic shifts coming this week as Jupiter moves into Aries, Mercury stations retrograde and a total lunar eclipse occurs in Scorpio. What does it mean for you? It's all below!

WEEKLY FORECAST: MAY 9 -15, 2022
All dates are given in the Eastern Time Zone

Planetary Activity

May 10: Mercury stations retrograde

May 10: Jupiter enters Aries

May 15: Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

Notable Aspects

Sunday, May 15: Sun square Saturn • Sun sextile Neptune

With the Sun square Saturn, you're likely to become very aware of any limitations in your life, which could cause you to feel frustrated or discouraged. The key to working with this influence is to get clear on what needs to change. Luckily, the Sun is also sextiling Neptune (vision, imagination), so if you put your mind to it, you're very likely to come up with a way to make it happen.

Daily Energy

Best Days: While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

May 13

Best Avoided: The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

MERCURY RETROGRADE at 4°52 Gemini

May 10 - June 3, 2022

Just a little more than a week after he arrived in Gemini, Mercury will begin moving backwards through the sign of his dignity. However, this introspective leg of his journey will be short lived, because on May 23 he retrogrades into Taurus.

But until then, he'll be backpedaling through Gemini, where he'll encourage you to reexamine some area of your life to see if there's anything that needs to be revised.

To find out which life areas are up for review in your chart, simply look to the house that Mercury is retrograding in your horoscope. TRANSITING JUPITER IN ARIES

May 10 - October 28, 2022

December 20, 2022 - May 16, 2023

On May 10, Jupiter will leave the tranquil sign of the Fish and enter the pioneering sign of Aries, where it will spend the next several months blazing a new path, seizing opportunities and advocating on its own behalf.

Jupiter represents the principle of growth and expansion, as well as the urge to evolve, and while it's in the sign of the Self, there's a focus on personal growth. It's time to expand your horizons, take a giant step forward, act on your own behalf and if necessary, fight for what you deserve.

While Jupiter is in Aries, it will expand the Ram's courage, initiative, ambition, resourcefulness and leadership ability. However, since Jupiter is the planet of higher knowledge, it will also infuse it with a dose of wisdom.

And that wisdom will be needed, because negatively Aries has a well-deserved reputation for being selfish, impulsive and a hothead, and yes, Jupiter will expand those qualities as well.

Wisdom will also be needed on the national and international level, because while Jupiter is in the sign of war, the likelihood of military actions and violent protests in the name of justice are likely to increase.

Besides being one of the planetary rulers of justice (Venus is the other), Jupiter also rules religion, cultures, laws, the higher courts, international trade and foreign relations, so conflicts are likely to emerge in connection with these areas.

While Jupiter rules truth (and the search for truth), it also rules propaganda, which increases the likelihood of headlines that exaggerate (Jupiter) the facts, and since it's in Aries, it increases the odds of impulsive acts of violence (Aries) in the name of justice.

Both personally and collectively, it's important to look before we leap while Jupiter is in Aries. If we do, we can realize a significant level of growth during this cycle.

While Aries individuals will reap the biggest benefits at this time, those born under Leo or Sagittarius can also expect to benefit greatly from Jupiter's blessings.

As for the rest of you, the good news is that you can expect Jupiter in Aries to usher in an opportunity to initiate something big in your life, and if it doesn't happen this year, you'll have a second chance when Jupiter is back in Aries from December 20, 2022 - May 16, 2023.

Which one? That depends on which house Jupiter is visiting in your horoscope. If you don't know where Jupiter is in your chart, you can refer to the list below to find out which house Jupiter in Aries is visiting in your solar (sun-sign based) horoscope.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE at 25°18' SCORPIO

May 16, 2022 | 12:15 AM EDT

This month's Scorpio full moon is a total lunar eclipse that supports purging toxic people, situations and circumstances from your life. However, its square to Saturn suggests that this may not be completely voluntary on your part.

If so, it's important to understand that if anything is taken away under this influence, it will be replaced with something (or someone) far better than you can imagine at the moment, and it will be closely aligned with your soul's reason for being here.

That promise can be seen in the Moon's trine (flow) to Mars (action, passion) and Neptune (ideals, soul contracts), as well as its sextile (opportunity) to Pluto (transformation), which is the planetary ruler of this eclipse.

However, it's important to note that Mercury is retrograde during this eclipse. This means that eclipse-related events could be delayed and/or revived at a later date, most likely when the eclipse point is triggered by a hard aspect from a transiting planet.

As it happens, Saturn will square the eclipse point when it hovers at the 25° Aquarius mark during the first few days of June. However, the day to watch is June 4, because that's the day that Saturn stations retrograde at 25°15' Aquarius and makes an extremely tight (within 2 minutes) square to the eclipse point.

On that note, events that occur around the time of the eclipse, and certainly while Mercury is retrograde, may not be final or finalized until early June.

Getting Personal

The house in your horoscope that holds this lunar eclipse is where the action is in your chart, and something related to one (or more) of the life areas ruled by it may come to light, to fruition or to an end. Negative beliefs or fears related to intimacy, trust or shared resources, power, control, death, psychic matters or the ability to transform one's circumstances.

Traits or tendencies to be obsessive, cruel, controlling, vindictive, jealous, secretive, compulsive, vicious or paranoid.
