NEW MOON AT 2°05' GEMINI MAY 22, 2020 | 01:39 PM Washington, DC
As the third sign of the natural zodiac, Gemini represents the conscious intellectual mind, which is why this new moon’s energy is ideal for learning new concepts, brainstorming ideas and making new plans.
With its restless, curious and expressive nature, it's no surprise that the Twins thrive on social interaction. In fact, that's the very reason why every Gemini new moon contains energetic seeds for expanding our social networks.
Since this month's Gemini new moon is in a tight trine (flowing energy) with Saturn (authority) in Aquarius (group gatherings), we can expect the lockdown reins to loosen a bit. However, I feel it's safe to say that while many of us will be getting out more, few of us will be getting a haircut any time soon thanks to Saturn's cautious and sobering influence.
On that note, although not connected to the moon by aspect, the convivial Mercury-Venus Rx conjunction in Gemini is a strong indicator that many will be eager to go reconnect with their friends and loved ones in a social setting. Given the square it makes to Neptune, I expect many to be disappointed that the level of freedom they desire and/or believed was coming any day now, isn't a reality.
Furthermore, the square to Neptune from the Mercury-Venus Rx conjunction suggests this new moon in the sign of communications (which includes domestic news) will herald a new round of alleged reports, exposés and debates (Mercury) and/or legal actions (Venus) related to Covid-19. In particular, we can expect to hear more about failures in nursing homes, prisons and other vulnerable populations.
Finally, given the confusing and often shady side of Neptune, we can also expect to hear (Mercury) about Covid-19-related scams (Neptune) bilking people out of their hard-earned money (Venus). |
