Dear Stargazers,

Several weeks ago, I was interviewed about Mercury retrograde (or as the editorial department calls it, Mercury in retrograde) for an article in  Women's Health magazine.

It was a lot of fun because it gave me the opportunity to shed some light on the upside of Mercury retrograde and share my insights into making the most of these cycles. You can read the article here, and I'd appreciate your using the social share buttons to help spread the word.

In other news, I just finished recording episode 4 of He Says She Says Astrology with Chris Flisher. This time around, HSSS will be released as its own podcast in June. The launch date is still to be determined so stay tuned for more news.

Last but not least, a limited-time special offer will be hitting your inbox later this week!

Now let's take a peek at what the heavens have in store for us during the next few weeks.

PLANETARY EVENTS

May 29:  Full Moon in Sagittarius and Mercury enters Gemini

BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

May 22, 27; June 1

BEST AVOIDED

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

May 23, 26

NOTABLE ASPECTS

For guidance about these aspects, visit Facebook or Twitter the day before the aspect. Why the day before? Because that's when the energy starts building and the influence starts making itself known. Once the aspect is exact, the energy is released and the influence fades.

May 23: Mercury opposite Jupiter

FULL MOON at 8°10'' SAGITTARIUS
MAY 29, 2018 | 10:19 AM
Washington, DC

As the ninth sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius represents aspiration, truth and knowledge. Consequently, a major focus of this month's full moon is about information coming to light that will bring enlightenment and/or enable us to set the record straight in some area of our lives.

Although a little on the wide side, Neptune squares this full moon from the 8th house (hidden matters). With Mars opposing the Ascendant in this chart, the battle lines are clearly drawn, and its trine to the Sun (Ascendant and 12th house North Node Ruler) and sextile to the Moon (12th house ruler) supports actions that expose hidden information.

However, it's the Moon's trine to the Ascendant/North Node conjunction that holds the promise that false beliefs will be exposed and the truth will ultimately prevail.
Getting Personal

A full moon occurs when the Sun and Moon form an aspect known as an opposition. The house that holds the Moon is where the action is in your chart, and something related to one (or more) of the life areas ruled by it may come to light, to fruition or to an end. Since a full moon falls across two houses, it's important to consider the life areas of the house that holds the sun as well.

If you don't know which house holds 8°10' Sagittarius in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the full moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart).

So where might you experience some type of enlightenment or learn information that enables you to set the record straight?

If your Sun Sign is:

Aries, the full moon falls in your solar 9th house of foreign travel, higher education, legal matters and publishing. Read the 3rd house as well.
Taurus, the full moon falls in your solar 8th house of intimacy, other people's money and support, jointly-held assets and transformation. Read the 2nd house as well.
Gemini, the full moon falls in your solar 7th house of lawsuits and one-to-one relationships. Read the 1st house as well.
Cancer, the full moon falls in your solar 6th house of work, health, service and pets. Read the 12th house as well.
Leo, the full moon falls in your solar 5th house of romance, children, creativity. Read the 11th house as well.
Virgo, the full moon falls in your solar 4th house of home, family, real estate, parents and intuition. Read the 8th house as well.
Libra, the full moon falls in your solar 3rd house of siblings, short trips, transportation and all types of communications. Read the 9th house as well.
Scorpio, the full moon falls in your solar 2nd house of money, income, values and self-worth. Read the 8th house as well.
Sagittarius, the full moon falls in your solar1st house - it's all about you, including your approach to life and physical appearance. Read the 7th house as well.
Capricorn, the full moon falls in your solar 12th house of solitude, secrets, past lives, healing and psychic abilities. Read the 6th house as well.
Aquarius, the full moon falls in your solar 11th house of goals, casual friends, colleagues and group relationships. Read the 5th house as well.
Pisces, the full moon falls in your solar 10th house of career, status and fame. Read the 4th house as well.

Releasing with the Sagittarius Full Moon

Once the full moon peaks and the matter is concluded, it's over and the next step is to release any attachment to it. That's why, the period of time between the full moon and the next new moon (the time while the moon is waning or disappearing from sight) is energetically ripe for releasing things from our life.

You can release anything under any full moon, but since this one is saturated in Sagittarius energy, it's especially helpful for releasing:

Negative beliefs or fears connected to success, justice, religion, abundance, travel, philanthropy and foreign people or places.

Traits or tendencies related to arrogance, hypocrisy, rudeness, wastefulness, overindulgence, fanaticism, bigotry, laziness and dishonesty.

TRANSITING MERCURY IN GEMINI
May 29 - June 12, 2018

After spending several weeks in the cautious, pragmatic and contemplative sign of Taurus, Mercury returned to Gemini and the comfort of his own home.

While his wings weren’t exactly clipped while in Taurus, he was forced to slow down as his restless spirit was restrained by the Bull's slow and steady nature.

URANUS IN TAURUS:
THE BIG PICTURE

Although it will be there just briefly this summer, next March Uranus will return to Taurus for an extended stay through 2026.

Given the extreme and unpredictable style of Uranus, its energy isn't compatible with the calm, cautious and and stable nature of the Bull.  So what can we expect from this upcoming cycle?

One of the best ways to look ahead is to look back at previous Uranus in Taurus cycles, because as cycles repeat, so do certain themes.

FINANCE

The past: The US Securities & Exchange Commission, the Banking Act of 1935, the Revenue Act of 1935 and the Social Security Act were all enacted while Uranus was in Taurus.  digital assets were introduced, and the US Tax Reform Act was passed while Uranus was in Aries.

The future:  We can expect to see the proposal of new laws designed to change Wall Street, the banking industry and social security. Since Uranus is know as the Great Reformer, while it's in Taurus we may see a big push for the deregulation of banks as well as a movement to overhaul Social Security and Medicare.

In terms of money, we can expect crypto currencies to be a hotly debated topic. Also, here in the USA the 2018 income tax filing deadline occurs shortly after Uranus re-enters Taurus, so by then we should know whether or not the Tax Reform Act results in more money for the majority of tax filers.

TANGIBLE GOODS

The past: Past Uranus in Taurus cycles gave us deodorant, the breast pump, polarized sun glasses, rayon, nylon and the first mass produced and rolled toilet paper.

The future: We can expect to see more luxury and high-end products, especially in the area of personal electronics, handheld devices and wearable tech gadgets. However, the biggest developments may be connected to how they're produced, sold and distributed (see "Technology" below). In the coming years, we can expect online sales to expand to more industries and we'll likely see a continued increase in online purchases and home deliveries.

VALUES

The past: While Uranus was in Aries (the self), gender identity made headlines. Olympic decathlon winner Caitlin (formerly known as Bruce) went public with her journey, and transgender rights became state (bathroom use) and national (the military) issues. We also saw the introduction of new gender categories, including but not limited to non-binary, pan-sexual and gender fluid.

The future: As Uranus makes its way through Taurus, we can expect to see more actions and proposed laws initiated on behalf of transgender rights and expanded categories of gender identity.

HEALTH

The past:  Penicillin was initially discovered while Uranus was in Aries, but landmark findings about its antibacterial actions were discovered and tested on the first human subject while Uranus was in Taurus. Taurus rules the throat, and penicillin was (and still is) widely used to treat strep throat. Also, Uranus rules groups and the first official Blue Shield group program was developed by employers while Uranus was in Taurus

The future:  Since Taurus rules the throat and thyroid, we may see medical breakthroughs that treat related diseases. In terms of health care, we can expect to see new forms of group coverage made available in the coming years.

BEAUTY

The past: While Uranus was in Taurus, Max Factor developed pancake makeup and the first smear-proof lipstick. He also developed the micrometer which was used in films to identify facial features that needed to be reduced or enhanced with makeup.

The future:  We can expect to see new developments connected to anti-aging, including but not limited to cosmeceuticals, laser, light and ultrasound procedures, dietary supplements and infusion therapies, as well as new ways to deliver them to the body.

TECHNOLOGY

The past:  Uranus rules aviation, and both the manned glider and the helicopter made history while Uranus was in Taurus. Uranus also rules computers, and past cycles debuted the first binary computer and the first computer programming language.

Taurus shares rulership over music and while Uranus was in the sign, the electric guitar made its debut. Since Taurus rules the throat, it should come as no surprise that the first electronic voice synthesizer (artificial speech) came to fruition while Uranus was in Taurus.

The future: Since Taurus rules luxury, we're likely to see more options for luxury air travel, as well as advances in space tourism. Since it also rules the vocal cords, security passwords and pins may be replaced by voice recognition technology. In terms of computers, we can expect to see more sophisticated apps that will allow us to run our lives (even more than we do now) and manage our homes remotely from handheld device.

Given the recent developments in robotics and artificial intelligence (Alexa do this, Alexa do that!), while Uranus is in Taurus we're likely to see some some giant steps taken in that direction. In that respect, keep a close eye on Amazon. Why? Because Uranus rules artificial technology, Taurus rules tangible goods and Amazon has already expanded into several industries and is using thousands of robots in its warehouses. Also, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is under a powerful, life-changing Pluto-Sun transit that inspires ambition.

INTERNET & SOCIAL MEDIA

The past: While Uranus was in Aries (the self, aggression, war), we witnessed the growth of cyber warfare as government, political, financial, retail and social media websites were hacked, and these database breaches placed millions of people at risk for fraud. Besides evolving into a vanity board, (Look at me! Look where I am! Look what I'm eating! Look what I'm doing!), Facebook and other social media sites were used to intimidate, shame and humiliate other people. In extreme cases, acts of violence were posted on these sites.

The future:  By nature, Taurus is a grounded, loyal, patient, responsible and value-conscious sign. In the coming years, we can expect to see an increase in personal responsibility related to online behaviors, as well in the collective desire to connect with others who share similar interests.
