| | TRANSITING MERCURY ENTERS VIRGO August 29 - September 14, 2019
Although it was fun while it lasted, after partying for weeks in the sign of passionate pursuits Mercury was feeling burned out from the intensity of Leo’s spotlight. Knowing it was time to check out of the Lion's Den, Mercury packed up and headed home to Virgo.
As the planetary ruler of Virgo, Mercury feels at home in the Maiden’s immaculate sixth house of health and wellness, and while in this grounded sign, his intellectual curiosity will be more focused and his nature will be more reliable.
In addition to health and wellness, the sixth house also presides over work, service, pets and daily routine, and while under the Maiden’s roof, Mercury’s attention will be focused on all of these areas.
Likewise, this period is an excellent time for us to do the same. For example, are we overdue for any routine exams or do we need to change our diet? In terms of our daily routine, are we guilty of too much work and too little play?
Speaking of work, do we feel that our contribution makes a difference to others or do we feel something is missing? Worse, do we feel burned out?
As the efficiency expert of the zodiac, Virgo excels at problem solving, and by the time Mercury bids farewell to the Maiden, his mind will be clear, his body will be fit and his wings will be polished.
Likewise, if we take the time to examine our lives through a critical lens and focus on solutions, we too will emerge from this transit with increased clarity, energy and inspiration.

Get ready to set your intentions! With conjunctions to Mercury, Mars and Venus, this month's New Moon in the sign of the Maiden offers the promise of new beginnings in connection to work, service, health, daily routines, pets, love, self-esteem and yes, money!
As detailed below (see "Manifesting with the Virgo New Moon"), in and of itself the Virgo new moon favors new starts in connection with work, service, health, daily routines and pets.
However, this one is conjunct Mercury, which inspires it to be curious, friendly, sociable and expressive, and it's also conjunct Venus, which stimulates the areas of love, committed relationships, money and self-esteem.
What's more, a tight conjunction to Mars (within 1°) infuses this new moon with passion, initiative and ambition, and while this would normally be an impulsive influence, it's tempered because of Mercury in Virgo's (rational mind) conjunction to the new moon.
On a similar note, the inflammatory nature of Mars is softened thanks to the soothing influence of its conjunction to Venus. With its aggressive nature curbed, Mars can ignite a romantic fire without burning the house down, and Venus's involvement means that it's more than just a one night stand.
While these conjunctions are all very positive for new beginnings, what makes it even sweeter is that they're all on the receiving end of a sextile from Uranus that promotes confidence, freedom, authenticity, intuition and excitement as it offers (perhaps unexpected) opportunities to help them blossom into their full potential.
