BEST DAYS

While there are other days during this time frame that are fine, these are the best of the bunch. What do I mean by the best? The energy is flowing, the moon isn't void and there's a greater likelihood for happy and/or productive outcomes.

July 23

BEST AVOIDED

July 22

The energies on these days aren't favorable for new ventures or any activity where you want or need a definite result. If you must schedule something, you may have to think on your feet, or there may be a need for patience or flexibility.

July 22

NOTABLE ASPECTS

July 20:  Sun opposes Saturn
July 22:  Mercury sextiles Uranus
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEO!

Dedicated with love to my daughter, Laura.
Wherever you are, there is the Sun.

Although the rest of the signs may not care to admit it, Leo is the star of the zodiac. Ruled by the Sun, which represents the life force, those born under the sign of the Lion are meant to be in the spotlight.

Hard as they may try, no other sign celebrates life with as much joy, enthusiasm and panache as Leo. This is not to say they’re perfect, mind you. While they’re innate nature is warm, loving and generous, they can at times be vain, self-centered and more than a bit melodramatic. In short, their fiery nature can singe a heart as easily as it warms it.  >> Read More.
DOUBLE NEW MOON AT 28°27' CANCER
July 20, 2020 | 1:34 PM
Washington, DC

The July 20 new moon is a "double new moon" because it's the second new moon in a row in the sign of Cancer (the last one being the solar eclipse at 0° Cancer on June 21).

However, in contrast to the solar eclipse, this new moon is occurring while Mercury is direct in Cancer so we no longer have the disadvantage of that influence in terms of delayed starts, which is always welcome news when your intention is to start new something.

The most significant aspect in this month's new moon is an very tight opposition to transiting Saturn in Capricorn. Oppositions are about finding balance in one's life. Just like any other confrontation, as the planets face off against each other their energy creates tension which you can  channel for better or worse.

If you're not conscious of it, this energy is likely to be experienced as discouraging because the Sun (your wants) and the Moon (your needs) are being opposed by Saturn (limitation, testing). However, it doesn't have to be that way.

While it's true that Saturn limits and/or tests what it touches, it's also true that it rewards patience, diligence and persistence with success. That means the key to this new moon is to tap into into Saturn's higher side and incorporate responsible actions and realistic expectations into your intentions.

For many of you, this will mean letting something go (at least for now) so you're free to devote your attention and energy to what really matters to you.

All that being said, and depending on your personal horoscope, when Mars triggers the July 5 eclipse point (July 21-22), some of you may be propelled forward while others could experience a setback.
Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting the new moon in your chart. If you don't know which house holds 28°27' of Cancer in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, it falls in your 4th house (home, family, real estate, parents).
Taurus, it falls in your solar 3rd house (siblings, neighbors, short trips, cars, contracts, negotiations.)
Gemini, it falls in your 2nd house (income, spending, personal values, self-esteem, tangible assets).
Cancer, it falls in your 1st house (your physical body, attitude towards life).
Leo, it falls in your 12th house (spirituality, creativity, mental health, addictions).
Virgo, it falls in your 11th house (groups, associations, hopes, casual friends, colleagues).
Libra, it falls in your 10th house (career, fame, status, reputation).
Scorpio, it falls in your 9th house (education, law, religion, foreign and long-distance travel, publishing).
Sagittarius, it falls in your 8th house (intimacy, shared resources, other people's support, birth, death, estate matters).
Capricorn, it falls in your 7th house (marriage and all one-to-one relationships including best friends, adversaries, business partners and clients).
Aquarius, it falls in your 6th house (health, work, pets, diet, nutrition).
Pisces, it falls in your 5th house (romance, children, creative self-expression, entertainment).

Manifesting with the Cancer New Moon

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's in Cancer, it especially favors:

Actions and affirmations to improve family relationships and domestic affairs; purchase, sell, rent or improve a residence, office or any other type of real property; find skillful caretakers, plumbers, obstetricians and landscapers.

Closing Thoughts

Until next week,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
