Dear Stargazers,

To those of you who are waiting for new episodes of Shortcut to the Soul, it will be a little while longer until I have time to record new ones.

I also want to thank those of you who subscribed to my YouTube channel. I'm at 100+ subscribers, but for some reason I'm still unable to customize the URL (which is why it hasn't happened yet - this wasn't just a ploy to get subscribers!)

In astrology, the Sun is our identity and represents how and where we want to shine. As many of you know, my Sun is in the 9th house of teaching, publishing, counseling, law and media. With transiting Pluto on my Sun, 2019 promises to be a transformational year in those areas, and I'm more than ready for it. That's why I can promise you that video IS coming (and a lot more!)

Zodiac Workouts

The Lively Staff over at Vital Proteins was so happy with my annual forecast that they reached out to me for insight into zodiac sign workouts. While I've never been fond of writing general sun sign horoscopes or articles, this one was fun to do.

When it comes to things like this, many people relate more to a neighboring sign. Why? Because it's common to have planets in neighboring signs in our horoscope. For example, if you're a Taurus but relate to Aries, you probably have some planets in Aries. Having an Aries ascendant would also explain it, as could having Mars (which rules Aries) on or near the Ascendant or ruling the 6th house (fitness) or several planets in the first house (ruled by Aries in the natural zodiac). When writing for the masses, we’re limited to sun signs but the truth is astrology is far more complex. Still, that doesn't mean we can't have some fun with it, so enjoy!

NEW MOON AT 15°45' AQUARIUS
February 4, 2019 | 4:04 PM EST
Washington, DC

With its altruistic energy infused with enthusiasm and optimism thanks to favorable energies from Mars and Jupiter, the Aquarius New Moon is a welcome (and long overdue) breath of fresh cosmic air.

As the ruler of the 11th house in the natural zodiac, Aquarius is the sign of fellowship and rules your colleagues, peers, casual friends and group relationships. It also presides over your hopes, goals and wishes.

With Mercury (the concrete mind, all types of communication and social activity) conjunct the new moon, it's an excellent time to plan a group event, become active in a humanitarian or political cause, establish fresh goals or take steps to achieve existing ones. Like the new moon, Mercury also sextiles Mars and Jupiter, which contribute initiative, confidence, vision and a strong potential for a successful outcome.

Last but not least, every planet is in direct motion at this new moon.

It's been a long time since we've had such a lovely lunation. Make the most of it.
Getting Personal

So which life areas are being targeted in your life for a new beginning? They're revealed by the horoscope house that's hosting the new moon in your chart. If you don't know which house holds 14°45' of Aquarius in your horoscope, you can refer to the list below to find out where the new moon falls in your solar (sun-sign based) chart.

If your Sun sign is:

Aries, the new moon falls in your solar 11th house of goals, casual friends, colleagues and group relationships.
Taurus, the new moon falls in your solar 10th house of career, status and fame.
Gemini, the new moon falls in your solar 9th house of foreign travel, higher education, legal matters and publishing.
Cancer, the new moon falls in your solar 8th house of intimacy, other people's money and support, jointly-held assets and transformation.
Leo, the new moon falls in your solar 7th house of marriage, lawsuits, and one-to-one relationships.
Virgo, the new moon falls in your solar 6th house of work, health, service and pets.
Libra, the new moon falls in your solar 5th house of romance, children, creativity.
Scorpio, the new moon falls in your solar 4th house of home, family, real estate, parents and intuition.
Sagittarius, the new moon falls in your solar 3rd house of siblings, short trips, transportation and all types of communications.
Capricorn, the new moon falls in your solar 2nd house of money, income, values and self-worth.
Aquarius, the new moon falls in your solar 1st house: it's all about you, including your approach to life and physical appearance.
Pisces, the new moon falls in your solar 12th house of secrets, past lives, healing and psychic abilities.

Manifesting with the Aquarius New Moon

You can set any intention under any new moon but when it's Aquarius, its energy is especially favorable for:

Actions, intentions and affirmations to further your hopes, goals and wishes; initiate, advance or promote group activities, social reforms or humanitarian causes; find skillful astrologers, metaphysicians, holistic healers, electricians and computer experts and improve relationships with stepchildren.

MANIFESTING REMINDER

For those of you who set intentions and perform new moon rituals for new beginnings, it's very important to be mindful about the time you do so. If not, you could inadvertently end up doing it during the dark of the moon.

What is the Dark of the Moon?

It's a period of time when the moon isn't visible in the sky.

What many people don't realize is that the dark of the moon occurs before and after a new moon.

Why the Dark of the Moon Matters

The dark of the moon that occurs approximately 24 hours before the new moon is part of the prior waning (releasing) cycle and is a powerful energy for release.

If you set your intentions for new beginnings during this time, you're doing so under the wrong energy.

The dark of the moon that occurs approximately 24 hours after the new moon is part of the new waxing (attracting) cycle, but it's energy is dormant.

If you set your intentions during this time, you're doing so under energy that's essentially inert.

Once the moon becomes visible to the eye (waxing crescent), it's time to set your intentions and/or perform your manifestation rituals.

If you set your intentions during this time, you're planting seeds for a new beginning under an active energy for attraction and manifestation.

Happy Manifesting!

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Four years ago tonight, my brother and I sat with my mother as her soul left her body. It seems like yesterday, and it seems like forever.

And it hasn't gotten easier.

My mother lived and died on her own terms, and although she had a very hard life, she always had an attitude of gratitude. In fact, after she decided she was ready to leave this world, all she talked about was how lucky she was.

If I can leave this world with the same outlook when my time comes, then my life will have been a success.

Until next time,

May Jupiter's blessings be your constant companion,
