WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Kerstin Rao is a floral illustrator in Westport, selling her work on high-end stationery and home gifts through her business, Vivid Cottage. She majored in Fine Art, with additional art training from Eastern Kentucky University, School of Visual Arts, and graduate summer study in Florence, Italy. Her works draws from life uncovering the odd and marvelous details to create vibrant, satisfying, and memorable art. WEBSITE

Renee Santhouse is a fine artist specializing in Contemporary Landscapes via Printmaking, Plein Air Painting, and Book Arts. Her artwork explores the abstraction and celebration of geological formations and events in time, based on history and on-site exploration. She strives to present a concentrated and dynamic view of a landscape that has the potential to excite.

We hope you have had a restful holiday season with family and friends. We're energized for a new year of collective growth and partnership. This year, we will continue to host our peer network convenings and professional development workshops as well the Spotlight on Arts & Culture radio show on WPKN, our annual ACE Awards ceremony, a visit with Randy Cohen from the Americans for the Arts, and MORE!

ARTIST WORKLAB FEB 2024


Great news! The January WorkLab topic is rescheduled for February 7th! Kick off the year from a strong and solid foundation. A partnership with @metroartstudios, this interactive session will focus on writing compelling bios and artist statements. Great for all types of creatives who are ready to present themselves in the best possible light. Registration required. Go to insta story for direct link. MEMBER NEWS

Eugenie Diserio has two paintings on view in the Ridgefield Guild Of Artists member themed show “Celebrating 50 Years of Art." Past Is Past (acrylic on canvas, 46 x 52”) was painted decades ago in graduate school and Sacred Geometry (acrylic, glitter, crystals on canvas, 30 x 40") is from 2023. The show features members’ work created during the past 50 years to the present and runs to Feb. 11. She also has Bold As Love (acrylic on canvas, 36 x 48”) in Stamford Art Association’s “What Do You Love Most?”

Donna Forma is happy announce that she has a solo exhibition at Silvermine Galleries. Donna’s artworks are organic containment forms “representing life or aspects of it, thousands of fragile parts woven, melding, overlapping layer upon layer upon layer, emerging into shapes of strength and beauty.”

Elliot Lewis Releases “Love is Alive” From Upcoming Album “Anything is Possible” on Pilot Light Records.

As a musician who’s toured the world with, Eliot Lewis has musical experiences that many musicians only dream of. Eliot has performed at venues like Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks, Japan’s Budokan and was included in The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction with Daryl Hall & John Oates.

Ashley Marie Debuts Single “Emotions” from Pilot Light Records. Ashley Marie’s story as a songwriter and a recording artist is one of remarkable courage. She is an artist who has undertaken an emotional journey out of the darkness and into the light, overcoming diverse obstacles, some internal, and others thrust into her path. Marie’s story is one of brave self-realization, resisting the pressure and expectation of others, while holding fast to her childhood dream of music.

Shanna T. Melton participated in an event commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday. The NBMAA partnered with the CT Center for Nonviolence (CTCN) to present an afternoon of art-making, music, and learning led by CTCN teaching artists and certified nonviolence trainers.

Duvian Montoya, Executive Director at The Norwalk Art Space, has been named a Connecticut Arts Hero! This award honors and celebrates "Connecticut residents who are doing inspiring things in, for, or through the arts in Connecticut." In addition to being the heart of The Norwalk Art Space, Duvian is a professional artist, muralist, curator, and community organizer. His vibrant paintings, striking murals, and captivating installations grace numerous collections.

Clarice Shirvell exhibits her painting, Turkey at Weir Farm at The Ridgefield Guild of Artists 50th Anniversary Exhibit. Open now through February 11th.

Her award-winning paintings and drawings have been purchased for both private and public collections and exhibited in over 50 solo, juried, and group shows in both museums and galleries throughout the Tri-state area.

Margaret Esme Simon has work in the group show, “Efflorescence” at the Bendheim Gallery. The eight-artist show focusing on flowers will be up through February 22. There will be a reception from 3:00 – 5:00 on Saturday, January 20.

Debbie Smith's porcelain grouping, "Dancing Orbs" will be in the annual Mixmaster Show at The Mattatuck Museum. 144 West Main St. The opening is Sunday 1/28 from 11:00-4:00. It runs through 3/3
