Dear Devotees,
From the time of the Vedas, the months of Kartika and Margashira have been revered as a sacred passage. A time when the rishis withdrew into silence, when sādhanā was not taught, but lived. When the Self was not discussed, but remembered. These months are not ordinary they are timeless alignments where the soul is most receptive, and the practice becomes the prayer.
The Mahabharata, Skanda Purana, and ancient Smritis describe Kartika as niyama rāja the king of disciplined months. Lord Shiva is said to have performed intense tapasya during Kartika. The Puranas say that even a single bath before sunrise in Kartika is the equivalent of many yajnas. If such is the power of one moment, what is the merit of seven full weeks in silence? |
