Hi Friend,
This is your personal invitation to CHAT, WITH FRIENDLY WATER FOR THE WORLD (more on that below). But first, today is World Water Day. A day where we originally planned to discuss climate change and have some engaging conversation over a No Such Thing As A Free Lunch, Free Lunch. But our plans for the day changed, as probably have yours. Like almost every organization around the world, we canceled our event due to the novel coronavirus pandemic (you can still donate in honor of World Water Day HERE).
As the pandemic has swept the world, health officials everywhere emphasize hand washing to help prevent infection and the spread of the disease. But what do you do when there is no clean water to wash your hands? Or no water at all? Here in the United States, the stores may be running short on toilet paper, but 99% of the population has access to water. In Sub-Saharan Africa that number is 60%. That's leaves over 700 million people unable to consistently wash their hands to help prevent the spread of coronavirus and to help protect their families and communities.
The discouraging news about coronavirus, the cancelation of our event, and all the social distancing got us wondering how we could still connect with all of our friends and supporters. If you're anything like us, you've been craving some conversation. So, on Friday March 27 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm PST we are going to host a virtual Chat that you can connect to from your computer.
The Chat is going to be lead by David Albert, our Board Chairman, and Curt Andino, our Executive Director. For the first 30 minutes they will talk about coronavirus, you'll hear how it is impacting communities in India and Africa, and we'll share some of our water technology solutions that help combat the virus. You'll be able to ask questions the whole time. The second 30 minutes will be an open forum for anyone to participate.
You'll need to register for the Chat by following this link: https://will-8830.gr8.com/ or clicking the button below. Then you'll be sent a confirmation email with the link to the event. We are excited to talk with everyone, so if you know someone who would like to join us, please forward this email to them. If there is anything you've ever wanted to ask or share, now is your chance! |
