Subject: ALERT Alumni | November Update

Dear Alumni:

It’s a sprint to the finish here as we begin to wind down and wrap up the 2017 training calendar year. We will be advancing 41 recruits this week and graduating seven men from advanced training the following week.

Other updates:
  • Our condensed six week flight program was a huge hit and five guys achieved private pilot status during that time. We praise the Lord for the provision of instructors, planes and good weather during that period. We will be debriefing in December and looking at windows of opportunity to continue flight training in 2018.
  • Our first Alumni weekend took place in Green Lake Wisconsin October 20-22. It was a great time of interaction and fellowship for the group of ten which included two fathers of ALERT guys. The gathering was focused on a five part video production “The Conquer Series,” and coming to grips with the addictive nature of pornography and the root issues behind it. I think all of us were challenged and gained tools that will help us to not only develop personal disciplines but invaluable information to help others who wish to gain victory on the road to moral purity. I’m hoping to do another one in the months ahead and looking at eastern Pennsylvania, south of Pittsburg. If you’d be interested in setting aside a weekend to join us please send me an initial response so I can begin to put together a core team of guys. Our primary focus is reaching out to ALERT guys, but the weekend is certainly open to dads or brothers as well. I believe this weekend could be life changing for you and urge you to consider attending.
  • Major Keon Pendergast will be completing his time with ALERT in December of this year. His family has already relocated to Kilgore but we will be holding an official “farewell” for the family next week. I’d encourage you to send the family a note of gratefulness and express your appreciation for their labor of love and sacrifice they have made for the cause of ALERT over these many years.
  • As a reminder I get regular requests from individuals looking to employ former ALERT guys. If you’re looking for a location or career change consider contacting one of the following:
