Subject: ALERT Alumni | July Update

Dear Alumni:

Our brief summer furlough of three weeks in June has come and gone and it’s back into training mode as we move ahead this summer.

ERT has already completed courses in high angle and sawyer and is now in fire training. Our leadership class led by Capt. Boulden is the only course being held in advanced training this semester. Please be in much prayer for increased interest and enrollment in all aspects of training. We believe we have much to offer in “forging extraordinary men for the kingdom” but we must have more men to be able to expand on our course selection and make it worth the effort. On an encouraging note we will be re-starting our flight program in an accelerated format in September so contact us if you’d like to know exactly how that operation will work and associated costs.

Last week a small team of ALERT guys once again assisted with Father/Son Camp East in Waynesburg PA sponsored by Jim Butler, an individual who has a heart to see the bonding of dads with their sons and daughters. It’s a great camp, (now held twice a year) packed with activities and great teaching from such men as Norm Wakefield and others. I would highly encourage any of you guys that are now married and have sons or daughters to attend one of the camps. The price is right (donation only) and events include such things as shooting, fishing, rappelling/zip line, archery, Frisbee golf, great hiking etc. Go to www.fathersoncampeast.org for more information. It would be great to see a contingent of ALERT guys and their sons or daughters at future camps.

Thanks for your response regarding interest in regional reunions of ALERT guys. We will be “beta-testing” our first reunion this October 20-22 in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Our time will include great fellowship and meals, going through the five part “Conquer Series” video series (see the trailer at conquerseries.com) and time to relax or participate in some Frisbee, football or whatever. I’d especially encourage our guys in the Wisconsin, Minnesota or Illinois areas to consider attending. We can house about ten comfortably on either a bed or cot so register early to get a prime spot. We’ll do whatever it takes to handle more if numbers dictate such. I really believe the time together will be life changing and strengthen our walk with God in new ways. Cost will be “donation only” to cover the food etc. so give as the Lord provides for you. I don’t want anyone to stay away because of lack of funds. Send me your contact information if you’d like to attend.
God bless you all and have a great July.
