Spot the Difference: Greater vs Lesser Flamingos on SafariSnaps!
Kamfers Dam is a flamingo hotspot - home to both Greater and Lesser Flamingos. But did you know these two species aren’t always found together?
That makes it extra exciting (and tricky) to tell them apart on Africam!
Here’s how to sharpen your SafariSnaps spotting skills:
Greater Flamingo Taller, with a paler pink body Large, slightly downward-curved bill with a black tip Legs are pinkish
Lesser Flamingo Smaller, more vibrant pink Darker, more curved bill Darker legs and often seen in larger, tighter groups
If you're unsure, tag your SafariSnap as “flamingo species.”
If we can't clearly ID the bird in your snap, we may remove species-specific tags to keep the info accurate.
Happy snapping - and may your next sighting be fabulous and flamingo-filled! |
