Tonight ADFF:ONLINE will present The Man & The Architect - Jørn Utzon. This film is really a love story — about his love of architecture and the story of a loving family. Of course we all know the iconic Sydney Opera House (above), but few of us know the series of misadventures during its construction. Utzon's story has been compared to Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead, about an architect who struggles to achieve success on his own terms, “but with Rand’s merciless objectivism replaced by Utzon’s creative humanism”.

Utzon's lesser-known buildings are also gems and give the viewers a broader view of his creative thinking and masterful architecture.

Before tonight’s film, we’ll have an introduction by Kai-Uwe Bergmann, partner, BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group.

Tonight's screening - and the other screenings this week - are made possible with the generous support of our sponsors Eventscape, Suite NY and Teknion.
