Schindler Space Architect

2024 / 93 min / US

Dir: Valentina B. Ganeva

Austrian born and educated, R.M. Schindler laid the foundation for what is now considered the California lifestyle of indoor/outdoor living. Narrated by Meryl Streep, Schindler Space Architect asks key questions about the importance of domestic architecture in creating a national culture and as a living entity that shapes humanity. The film affirms the singular genius of one man and the eternal challenge every artist faces to stay true to their vision and leave a lasting impact.

E.1027 – Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea

2024 / 90 min / Switzerland

Dir: Beatrice Minger, Christoph Schaub

Irish designer Eileen Gray built a refuge on the Côte d‘Azur in 1929. Her first house is a discrete, avant-garde masterpiece. Le Corbusier, upon discovering the house, became intrigued and obsessed. He built his famous Cabanon directly behind E.1027, which dominates the narrative of the site to this day. This is a story about the power of one woman’s creative expression and a man’s desire to control it.
