"On many levels, my experience with ACMS was truly transformative. The impacts on my teaching include using this experience to challenge various historical myths and narratives about the Mongol experience. The program also exposed me to numerous ways to connect current world issues to issues and the lives of my students.

I have also reformed several of my classes to incorporate what I learned in the field. Sharing the experience with my colleagues has expanded to co-teaching with a science colleague, and because of student interest, we are working to bring some of our students to study in Mongolia within the next two years.

Participating also continues to move me to seek out more education about the region and the people, including a week-long program in Colorado this past summer.

My time with the ACMS and their field study program was incredibly valuable to me as a teacher and to my students, and something I am sure I will do again."
