Since joining ACMS in 2024 as Director of Partnerships and Outreach, Ms. Davaasuren has played a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s visibility, partnerships, and global impact. She revitalized the ACMS Speaker Series through a special edition Friends of ACMS summer lecture series featuring distinguished scholars such as Professor Christopher Atwood (University of Pennsylvania), Dr. Natasha Fijn (Australian National University), and Dr. Marie Favereau (French Institute for Central Asian Studies). She also initiated the recently-announced landmark project Faith, Friendship, and Frontiers: The Legacy of Diluv Khutughtu and Owen Lattimore, which will highlight the intellectual and spiritual ties that shaped early people-to-people and nation-to-nation relations between Mongolia and the United States in the 20th century.
Ms. Davaasuren’s career reflects a proven record of leadership and innovation across public, non-governmental, and international sectors. As Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Mongolian Library Association, she led national initiatives such as Libraries Without Borders (2022-2024)—a groundbreaking program that trained over 800 librarians and revitalized library services across all 21 provinces of Mongolia. She also serves as a Standing Committee Member (2025–2029) of the Management of Library Associations Section of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), connecting Mongolian professionals to global knowledge networks.
As In-Country Director, Ms. Davaasuren will oversee the management of the ACMS Ulaanbaatar office, staff, and programs while leading the development of new initiatives, partnerships, and funding opportunities. Her vision is to strengthen ACMS’s role as a dynamic hub for research, education, and cultural exchange between Mongolia and the global scholarly community.
“It is a great honor to take on the role of In-Country Director at ACMS. I look forward to deepening partnerships between Mongolian and international institutions and creating new opportunities for scholarly and cultural collaboration. Together, we can build an inclusive, innovative, and forward-looking ACMS that continues to serve as a bridge between Mongolia and the world. I am proud of ACMS’s 20-plus-year legacy and excited to contribute to its next chapter.”
