Dear Wilbur Friends and Family,

"Once upon a time..." "If I only had time." "What a waste of time." "Time is on my side."

Time at Wilbur can be measured but is often forgotten. The early winter sun rises and burns off the crisp frost layer that blanketed each flat surface the night before. Seemingly moments later, the sun begins is descent, casting rays of orange, yellow and purple across the overcast sky. In between, the only chronological reminders we have each day are the 4 "dings" on an old school bell at 11:30 a.m. and then again at 4 p.m.
In between, we are left only with the peace of our own thoughts and the tranquility of beautiful nature and hot soothing baths to count the moments away.

Minutes turn to days, Wednesdays roll into Saturdays, and we only just realized that calendar year 2016 is nearly behind us.

Having spent the previous 8 new year arrivals living in SE Aisa, we have become a bit accustomed to following the Chinese calendar. The plastering of red and gold throughout the cities and country sides, lanterns and string lights, firecrackers and red envelope monetary offerings, cleaning houses, and tea ceremonies ...

2017 is the Year of the Rooster in Chinese zodiac. Beginning January 28, 2017, it is predicted to be a year of fresh challenges that will require quick wit and practical solutions. Roosters themselves can expect professional and personal achievements and increases. Those born in the Year of the Rooster will have emotional advantages over others', will maintain control, and will have fun doing it! We are glad one of us is a Rooster!
Those who are not Roosters should befriend one. Roosters are hardworking, loyal, proud, and healthy individuals. Let a rooster help carry you through the upcoming year!

Warmest wishes and happy new year to all,

Patty and Chris Liebe

Wilbur’s Fluminarium features 3 long “flumes” (soaking baths) filled with geothermal water that emerges from the source at approximately 145° F and is channeled into each one with average temperatures of 98° F, 105° F, and 109° F. The temperatures are adjusted by monitoring the flow of water. Fresh water continuously passes into and out of the flumes as you soak in silence.

Meet Larry Ronnenberg
This month we are acknowledging a very special friend and Wilbur family member. Larry Ronnenberg, owner of Mercey Hot Springs (www.merceyhotsprings.com) located in Firebaugh, Fresno County about a 2 1/2 hour drive southeast of San Francisco.

Larry has dedicated countless hours in helping Wilbur Hot Springs upgrade its Photo Voltaic System (solar power) over this past year. Thanks to Larry, his wife Grazyna, Manuel, and the entire Mercey family who allowed him to be away from their operation for days at a time.

With only a few, small remaining adjustments left to make, Wilbur is nearly able to power its entire operation without the use of a generator. Completely from nature and more healthy for all!

If you are ever heading in Larry's direction, please visit Mercey and stay in one of his cabins, campsites, private "Walkabout" house, or in the Airstream.

From all of our hearts, many thanks Larry.
