Subject: When Life Gives You Lemons ... (no, don't make lemonade)

What if the bitter experiences we want to change are the ones God can use to heal us?

What do you do when life gives you lemons? Make lemonade, like the old adage says? No!

Due to the wonderful properties in lemons, when life gives us lemons, let’s just peel, juice, and drink them for optimal health! Instead of adding something to the lemons of life, we should simply value each experience for what it is.

I spoke about this recently at a wonderful women's retreat "Prepare to Heal" in Tennessee.

Let's be honest, life’s experiences can be like the acidic taste of lemons.

Yet, lemons help to balance the body’s pH ratio and their highly alkalinizing effect helps the body to fight off infections. Just as in the stories of childless Bible women, our human desires can similarly align with God’s plan for our lives as we deal with bitter experiences. Lemons are more than a food ingredient; they also have medicinal benefits and cleaning properties. Our experiences offer more depth and meaning than we may have imagined. Our lemon experiences can change our paradigms.
