Hi Friend,
‘I’ve been in so much grief and anger recently. It’s profound to start this course talking about gratitude and grounding us in an indigenous prayer.’ - said one of the participants in the private cohort of our Course for Thanksgiving.
We know this public (open to everyone) cohort will be really special.
We start each class with The Words Before All Else, aka the Thanksgiving Address, read in Tuscarora. It’s always a powerful moment, and a way of grounding in these conversations that is rich and provocative. Every single time.
Engaging with thanksgiving differently is a powerful and rewarding opportunity to engage with history, time, family stuff, and food. This course is designed to support you and your friends and family.
It's not about guilt or shame. It is about engaging deeply and crafting new narratives that can better address historical and contemporary harms.
A course for Thanksgiving - a 4 part course that I’m co-teaching with my partner Kristine Marie Hill (Tuscarora nation, Haudenosaunee Confederacy).
