Subject: How is it almost the winter solstice?

Time is so weird.

Sometimes so fast, sometimes so slow.

We went out to get our tree today - cut fresh from a field of other trees, it was a baby tree in comparison to the forest of trees next to which it stands.

The act of bringing a green tree into the home is something that some of my ancestors from Europe have been doing far, far longer than Europe has been Christian. (And perhaps it’s that older story that we are most enjoying being a part of).

What do the tree's ancestors remember of this act?

An old tradition. Different every year. And this year, decked with its own set of joys and sorrows - the joy of a house full of sweetness, from the work we get to do to our family's togetherness; the grief/anger I feel for the immense suffering in Palestine and Israel and for the unseasonably warm weather - yet another sign of a changing climate.

There's been so much movement in the last few months on so many levels that Krissy and I joke that we have a backlog of processing to do.

And so we are taking out our big pieces of paper to draw our circular calendars, letting what is now, for us, a familiar ritual continue to inform and bring patterns and rhythms to light. Once again, patterns emerge, and within the pattern, possibilities for interpretation; for direction. In reflection comes the ability to sense what shifts we can/need to engage in.

Part of planning for 2024 is sensing these patterns - in our lives, in our common life, and in Earth's life.

If you don't really know what I'm talking about, I encourage you to go ahead and sign up for circular time for this Year's Turning.

If you do know what I'm talking about, cuz you’ve engaged in our circular time workshop before, you know how great it is. I encourage you to come back and join us this year turning.

And - you might want to gift the course to someone. the gift of seeing one's own world a little bit differently is very powerful. You can gift this course either as part of a group experience or a 1-1 conversation with me, where I sink into some deep places with your friend (or yourself) and offer what I am hearing/sensing in their sharing.

We offer multiple times. You only need to choose one. Once you sign up, you will receive a workbook, enabling you to create your own circular calendar for 2023. Then we gather on Zoom to share in what becomes a sacred circle.

We are currently offering the following times....

(not just clock time)

This is also a really great process for teams, networks, and friendship groups. If you have a few people whom you would like to do this with, let me know, and we can set up a time that works for you!

And wherever you find yourself in what is often a season of overwhelm, know you are not alone.

Many blessings,

Sara Jolena

ps - our last What Lies Beneath informational webinar/circle went really well! So we are having another one on January 9! There will be another note about this but for you planners…
