Here's exactly how to do it...
http://donnamerrilltribe.com/2017/04/awesome-list-building-perfect-blog-post/See, when you create a
piece of content, it should
contain valuable information…
or tactics
or ideas that your readers want.
It benefits them in some way.
That means…
It's something that will
be of value to them.
But in and of itself, that’s
not enough for them to
commit to you if they don't
really know who you are.
Or if they don't trust you
enough yet.
They may still resist subscribing
to your email list just to
“get more valuable information like this.”
So reel them in even closer.
Offer them a content upgrade.
So if they just read a long
blog post that you wrote about
"the 10 best resources" in your niche…
then turn that into
...a resource guide
-or-
…a checklist
Anything that they can download
onto their computer.
That's a content upgrade.
They just read a great
blog post from you.
They got great value from it.
But…
it becomes even more valuable
if you go one step further.
Give them an extension to that
information in the form of a
downloadable checklist
(or ebook or chart or resource guide or whatever)
Adding content upgrades like t
hat will show your readers that
you’ve really got their back.
Don't know quite how to do that?
Here's the "How-To" detailsIf people really like what they
just read on your blog post then,
they will want the content
upgrade.
That way that they can have
it at their fingertips.
If they have to join your
email list to get it... then they will.
Find content upgrades that
you can create easily and simply.
The biggest challenge you'll have is
to make sure that that content upgrade
is relevant to the blog post that you've written.
If you just wrote a blog post about
10 dog training tips, then offer a
content upgrade in the form of a
checklist of exactly the same
10 dog training tips.
People loved the 10 tips they
just read about.
So now they want to have
them handy.
Your downloadable checklist
of those very same top 10 tips
is not only valuable to them,
but it's perfectly relevant to t
he content that they just consumed.
It doesn’t have to be the
same thing, though.
You could say something like
“if you loved these 10 tips,
then you must see the video
I just made that shows you
how to put them into practice.”
Or…
“These are 10 great tips that
I use everyday.
But there are 3 more that
I only share privately with
my email list. Subscribe
now, and I’ll send them to you.”
Use your imagination.
How can you extend and upgrade
the value of what you just g
ave people in your blog post?
What makes sense?
What follows naturally, and is
totally relevant to what they
just read?
And what are the tools you
need to put your content
upgrades into action?
All this and more, right here…Content upgrades are the
very best way for you to convert
readers and visitors into
email subscribers.
Best of luck with it :)
