Hi Friend
What are some good Facebook alternatives for getting traffic?
Well first of all, let’s be clear on one important thing.
You have to decide if you’re looking for free traffic or paid traffic.
I won’t get into the pros and cons of those 2 approaches today.
They are both good for different reasons, though, so know what you’re after.
If you want pay-per-click traffic, then there probably is no better place than Facebook.
But you should also consider Solo Ads.
For just a few dollars you can build a list of followers.
Then you can promote your blog posts directly to them via email.
Solo Ads allow you to get very targeted traffic, and you can easily control and budget your ad expense.
Now on the free end, you can get traffic from any social media site or forum.
The key, here, is to see where your target crowd hangs out most.
If you have a fashion blog, for instance…
you’ll probably find that visual sites like Pinterest and Instagram are especially good.
Why?
Because fashion is visible and those 2 platforms are great places to share fashion photos and images.
If your blog is more business or professional oriented, then LinkedIn is a great place to start your search.
People on LinkedIn tend to be more serious and business minded.
They are not there so much to “socialize” as they are to trade ideas and promote each other.
So, you get the idea.
Don’t go somewhere that people won’t be interested in your niche, or in your content.
Go where it will be well received.
It’s always best to create a list of groups or niche communities It can be FB groups, LinkedIn groups, subReddits (those are what they call groups in Reddit)… etc.
On Twitter, the closest you can come to groups is #hashtag communities.
So these are the best places to start looking for traffic sources.
Happy hunting.
I’ve had a lot of feedback from people over the last week or so while I’ve been talking about traffic.
I’ve also been very involved in privately coaching a small group of traffic-seekers.
So, I’ve seen what you are struggling with on an individual basis.
Just understand that “getting traffic” is not really as hard as people make it.
There are so many people on the internet, in every niche imaginable…
The traffic is there.
You won’t attract it, though, unless you have a very clear message for people…
meaning…
a reason WHY they should follow you, visit your blog etc.
If you’re struggling to get traffic, I’ve written an article …
- inspired by the traffic struggles I’ve been seeing from my own clients and students, just since the New Year started -
that digs into this matter deeper…
