Friend,
I used to procrastinate like crazy when it came to filming videos.
âFeel the fear, and do it anywayâ they said.
Easier said than done, right? đ¨
I would keep delaying my âFilm YouTube videosâ task over and over again. Iâd move it to tomorrow, then the next day, then the next week. When I finally brought myself to record, Iâd trip up on my words, and would end up deleting the recording and starting over...
It was brutal. I never felt âreadyâ.
But what I finally learned is this: confidence doesnât show up before you start. It shows up because you start.
Which means yes â your first video WILL feel awkward. Your second will too. (Honestly, even your 20th! Itâs different for everyone...lucky me, it took me over 100 videos to feel more confident!).
Just know that awkward doesnât mean youâre not ready or that youâre not meant to do this. It just means youâre growing. It means youâre exercising a new muscle that hasnât been warmed up yet.
In this weekâs video, Iâm sharing how I got stuck in the endless âgetting readyâ cycle and what finally pushed me to hit record anyway.
My hope is that, after watching this, youâll feel a little less alone (itâs supposed to feel messy!) and a little more ready to push past the discomfort...because people need to hear what you have to say.
