Subject: ✩ Safer Internet Day & new opportunities for child safety responses

Hi Friend,

Welcome back to the school year for 2019! For myself and the team, holidays seem to have quickly faded and we are now forging ahead for 2019.

This year, we welcome Megan Williamson to support Curriculum Development as our Secondary School Specialist. Megan is a powerful and passionate teacher, trainer and youth wellbeing advocate with 10 years of teaching and youth work experience, Learn more about Megan here

Towards the end of 2018, schools and community groups reached out wanting to know how to respond to concerning sexual behaviour amongst students. This issue is closely linked to children's access to online p0rnography, and it's essential that professionals and carers know how to respond to this child safety issue. To answer this call, we are now providing an after-school inservice: A Proactive and Protective Response to Concerning Sexual Behaviours. This 60-90 minute workshop is a must for those seeking to strengthen their organisations capability to effectively manage the risks and harms of online and physical environments. Learn more here.

Keep reading for information on our updated Holistic Model of Sexuality and our new IQ PROGRAMS. We have also released a blog to support you with Safer Internet Day - available now  to share with your parent community.

Reach out if you have any questions, and we look forward to supporting you in 2019.

Till next time, stay inspired.

Liz Walker and the Youth Wellbeing Project team.

#SaferIntenetDay is tomorrow, February 5, 2019. Our latest blog is written by one of our parent supporters who experienced horrendous bullying online. Rather than waste the moment, she used it as an opportunity to equip her daughter. Handled well, online 'disasters' can be turned into actions that make the internet safer for us all. Read more here.
Youth Wellbeing Project has provided a jam-packed webpage full of links, books, videos, free schools resources plus more! Join with us to build resilience in children & young people to p0rnography impacts through awareness and proactive education.
