Subject: 3 Minutes Before The Noise...

The storm exists. But it doesn’t tell the whole story...

Happy Sunday Friend !

Some sundays, we open our eyes… and our minds are already around Tuesday!

Before our feet touch the floor, the list begins: “I need to remember…”, “I have to take care of…”, “What am I going to do about…?”

We often think peace will come once everything is resolved, but that is not necessarily the truth.

The storm doesn’t have to disappear

When strong winds blow across the ocean, the waves can become fierce.Yet just beneath the surface, the water can be much calmer. It’s the same ocean. The storm exists. But it doesn’t tell the whole story.

I think the same is true of us. Our thoughts can be turbulent, emotions can make waves and our schedules can be full. But somewhere beneath all that movement, there is still a place where we can breathe and remember: I am here. I don’t have to solve my entire life in the next three minutes.

Just 3 minutes

Before the news, social media, and email, try this:

  • Place your feet on the floor.

  • Gently close your eyes.

  • Place one hand over your heart.

  • Breathe three times, more slowly each time, letting your shoulders soften.

Then quietly say:

*Dear Universe,
Calm the storms within me.
Quiet my mind and bring serenity to my heart.
Open my eyes to the love that surrounds me,
so that fear may gently fade away.
Amen.*

Then simply remain there for a few moments. There is nothing to accomplish.

I entrust my mind to the Source

This simple phrase holds everything: I entrust my mind to the Source.

It doesn’t deny problems or promise that everything will go as planned.
It simply reminds us:

I don’t have to let fear direct my thoughts while I move through this day.

When something troubles you this week, instead of asking first: “How am I going to solve this?” try: “From what inner place do I want to look at this?”

Fear may see one set of possibilities. Peace may see another.

The problem may not have changed, but the person looking at it has.

And sometimes, that is where the miracle begins.😊

With love and light,
Janice

P.S. Tomorrow morning, before asking the world what it expects from you, give yourself 3 minutes to remember what you want to bring to the world.

Perfect Days (2023 - Wim Wenders)

A contemplative film that reminds us that beauty doesn't necessarily wait for our lives to become extraordinary. Sometimes, it is already there: in the morning light, a tree, a song, a book, a moment of silence. Perhaps we just need to slow down enough to notice it.

Peaceful Easy Feeling ( Eagles )

Sometimes, we don’t need an answer. We just need to find, for a few minutes, that peaceful easy feeling—that inner space where we can breathe and let the day come to us, instead of running out to meet it.
