Subject: Friend - Bhutan or Himalaya Helicopter?! Maybe Both!

Greetings Friend,

The Kingdom of Bhutan is one of the most exotic and safest countries in the world. The image above is the Tiger’s Nest, the Taktsang Monastery Bhutan. It is a country as close to the Shangri-La of James Hilton’s 1933 classic “Lost Horizon” as you’ll find on earth today.

Last year our group so enjoyed the expedition to this unique Himalayan Kingdom, Bhutan.  This year perhaps you can join us: Oct 31 to Nov 10, 2026. You would fly straight to Kathmandu and we'll meet you at the airport.
Hidden between Tibet and the crest of the Himalayas to the steamy jungles of India, Bhutan is known as the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Independent for centuries and never colonized, Bhutan is a magic place and entirely unique. From it's festivals, traditions, culture, religion, and more, there is no place like it on earth.

Experiencing Bhutan is a true adventure. Quite frankly, Bhutan is as fabulously exotic as our world gets. At the same time, no other country is as serenely peaceful as Bhutan, no people more contented and cheerful as the Bhutanese, no land more welcoming and hospitable.

Bhutan’s culture is a unique mix of the ancient Himalayan animism called Bön and Tibetan Tantric Buddhism. The Bhutanese are renowned for being among the happiest people on our planet. They love to laugh, sing, dance, and play – and you’ll be invited to join them. Bhutanese happiness is infectious.  One very good reason we will have a happy time of our lives on our Bhutan adventure.

We’ll visit Bhutan’s castle temples called Dzongs and witness the lama monk ceremonies.
Above is a temple with monks chanting and praying.

It's quite an experience to meet the country’s most unique people, the Brokpa, (below) They are semi-nomadic yak herders living very traditionally in hidden valleys reachable only by trekking or 4WD track, as we will.  You can see their unusual hats are made of yak wool woven so the rain runs down and off the tips - protecting their heads!
The photo above is a customary dance...always very creative and bright...

A beautiful lodge along the river.... below we a short, gentle river rafting we'll do one afternoon --
Bhutan was not open to foreigners for decades, even now it's not crowded because  there is a limit to the number of tourists.

The people are kind, welcoming, and sweet -- these boys are typical!

We've planned Himalaya Helicopter immediately before Bhutan -- it's a very short flight (90 minutes) for those who want to do both.

Himalaya Helicopter Expedition

Oct  23 - Oct 30, 2026

Soar to the Heights!

If you've been waiting for Himalaya Helicopter 2026, it's open for registration and dates are October 23-30, 2026. We've been offering this since 2o16 and it is always a thrill even for me.  By the way, there is NO HIKING involved.

Yes, you will soar through 8 of the highest mountains in the world. It's spectacular.
The experience of being in the Himalayas with these majestic mountains is deeply touching.

You will bring home memories of a lifetime. (I know that I'm always saying this, but it's TRUE!!!)

Yes, it is an extraordinary experience.
Yes, it is breathtaking natural beauty.  Yes, you should be there.
Below, you can see our 2023 November HHE by the sky caves. By the way, we typically have a fairly even mix of men and women on this trip.

Here, below, I'm in the gold jacket and Rebel is on my left in light gray. (While we're all layered -- our partner, Eddy, is in the white t-shirt!)

In the next photo down, we're at Annapurna South, where we landed with our heli.  Imagine being this close to some of the highest mountains in the world!
Each journey immerses you into the beauty of these spectacular natural settings, yet learning about a country, their history, culture, and customs -- and connecting with like-minded people with adventurous attitudes sharing the journey.

So join us for a "best" in quality, variety, and life-memorable value.

Remember, life is short - the time for a great adventure is now.
Let us know if you'd like to discuss these expeditions.

Blue Skies,

Jack Wheeler
