Subject: [Fun!] Board Erasers, Froggy Graphics & Free Photoshop...

Free Photoshop! Plus one of the bestest teachers ever...

Hey there!

I went for a cuppa with a friend yesterday. I can't tell you how good it feels to do normal things again! :)

She was telling me that she has realised how much she loves teaching so she's doing a college course...

Trouble is she needs to take GCSE English too...

She's my age (ancient, I know, lol!) and she's stuck in a classroom full of sullen teenagers who just don't want to be there...

They're rude to the teacher and don't listen. And my friend (as a parent herself) has to sit there and put up with it...

Imagine that? Ugh! Makes me shudder to think about it.

When we were at school the teacher would have thrown a stick of chalk or even a hard wooden board eraser at a misbehaving student, but apparently that sort of thing is frowned upon these days ;)

Anyway, I don't think I would make it through 5 minutes in a classroom like that. It would irritate me far too much...

I did do an evening course in Photoshop last year. It was all adults and of course everyone wanted to be there, so from that point of view it was great...

However, the course itself left me rather disappointed...

The main reason I did it was so that I could make headers and other marketing graphics myself.

I kinda enjoy that sort of thing anyway and it's obviously quicker and more cost effective for me not to have to rely on outsourcers.

But the course covered mostly photo manipulation and the lecturer just couldn't seem to get his head around it when I requested that he include something more geared towards web design...

I stuck out the course and finished it...

By that time I think there were 3 students left. Lol!

It gave me the basic grounding I needed and I've been getting by.

But when I came across Matt Garrett's new Photoshop Mastery course I grabbed the opportunity both hands and I've certainly not been disappointed.

I've just been going through the videos and he has the best teaching style I have come across in a long time :)

I've watched 6 videos so far and everything is starting to fall into place. Everything I needed that lecturer at evening classes to teach me.

And all explained very simply in a way that you can easily follow along.

If you haven't got Photoshop, you can download it for free here:

I can't wait to get onto the next video once I've sent you this email. I can honestly say that I'm having fun! :)

Have a great weekend and I'll speak to you again next week.

To your Photoshop Mastery success!

PPS. Mentioning English lessons has made me think about this quote from Ralph Wiggum (The Simpsons):

"Me fail English? That's unpossible!" Lol! :)
