It was a joy for me to invest three days over a weekend in the middle of March with a beautiful group of people at an Angelic Reiki training workshop on the north shore of gorgeous Lake Tahoe in California (which just happened to be gripped in the biggest multi-day snow storm of the season -- totaling nine and a half feet of snow!)
On that Sunday our group took time out to join with at least 10,000 other people around the world in simultaneously offering up healing prayer for our earth, solar system, galaxy, and beyond – for humans, nature, elemental beings, and all the angels and other spiritual beings who are helping humanity strive toward freedom and love. People I was personally in contact with during that period of healing ranged from Christian priests to aboriginal shamans, from the Beings of Wise Cosmos to the Beings of the Goetheanum.
In preparation for our group’s participation, I offered the following reflection by Gisela Wielki and verse by Rudolf Steiner.

| My wife Julie and I are among those who have lost our income streams due to the choices that have been made around the world in reaction and response to the coronavirus COVID-19. Eight weeks of full-time work for both of us has evaporated as our clients have one by one decided to shelter in place.
This comes on the heels of recent decisions made to obligate most of our next few months of anticipated income into taking Wise Cosmos to the next level in terms of website content, new recordings, and service outreach. Now all that anticipated income has disappeared.
But wait! This newsletter is not a request for donations. The only reason for mentioning all of the above is to provide context for everything else I wish to share.
I just wanted you to know that we are among those who are facing zero income with little reserve and lots of big payments to make. If you are in a similar situation, we hold you especially close to our hearts.

| | A corona is a circle of light around an object. The most magnificent corona in our universe is the corona around the sun. It is a fiery circular crown with occasional intense flare ups. Its rays extend millions of miles into space. What a majestic body our sun is, the source of light and of life.
Looking at the heart there is also a corona. The heart muscle has its own blood supply. It comes from a crown or corona of blood vessels that circle the heart. This corona can be defective and then one speaks of coronary heart disease.
And now we have a corona-virus that has unleashed panic around the globe. Borders have been closed. Air travel has been partially suspended. Millions of people are under lockdown. The corona-viruses are named for the crown-like spikes on the surface of the virus. They usually cause mild to moderate upper-respiratory infections, like the common cold. But they can also cause more severe illnesses such as bronchitis and pneumonia which can, of course, lead to death.
For some time now people all over the world seem to have fallen under the spell of fear. Fear has entered our lives like a fast spreading virus. It has become a corona of darkness around the globe. Like the crown-like spikes of the corona-virus, the dark spikes of fear drive people apart. Fear drives people into isolation. Fear contracts and constricts the heart.
And is the heart of humanity not suffering from coronary heart disease, from constriction, and therefore from a lack of love supply? Infectious love and life and laughter are giving way to deadly infections of the soul and the spirit. The world needs healing. We need healing.
As a child I used to sing: “The Sun is in my heart …” We need to rediscover the sun-being in our hearts, in our midst, so that His corona can embrace our frightened humanity and drive away the cold and dark corona of fear, and so that we may find the courage to touch each other's soul with the contagious healing power of love.

| | During the 12 hours immediately following my return home from that weekend, several people I know who had been modeling reasonable logic, faith, and freedom succumbed to the rising tide of fear. While I admit my initial reaction was sadness and frustration, immediately on the heels of those feelings there arose in my soul the response of love and compassion.

| I don’t say that to make myself sound particularly holy or anything. Not at all. Rather, it was based upon a message I have been giving out to everyone who has been asking my opinion, which is this:
I am convinced by the spiritual evidence that
COVID-19 is an opportunity (even a gift) from God.
It is an invitation to be conscious co-creators,
to transform our lives, communities, and world
by our thoughts and words, choices and actions.
The virus is not inciting us to hide, hoard, or loot in fear,
but inviting us to connect, share, and create in love.
Remembering my own words shifted me back into a time of offering up healing prayer for all who are struggling, both those I know by name and those I do not. I also thought more deeply about the connection between fear and freedom. This prompted me to share some thoughts with all of you in our Wise Cosmos community . . . but just as I began to write them down, I was inspired to look for a quote along the lines of my thoughts. This led me to Marilyn Ferguson’s much more succinct and eloquent words:
Ultimately we know deeply that on the other side of every fear is a freedom.
Which brings me back to the bottom line, the hopeful truth: Fear and suffering are gifts to us because of their wonderful ability to focus our attention and force us to make choices in alignment with our true values. What arises and manifests in our lives as a result of our reactions and responses to fear and suffering is revelatory.
