| All of a Feather
The idiom "birds of a feather flock together" appears in literature at least as far back as 1545 AD, but as a proverb and metaphor it likely goes back much farther in history.
It seems fitting to use Feathers for our newsletter that highlights events sponsored by other organizations. It reminds us that there are other "flocks" worth getting to know, building relationships with, and learning from.

| | | Last Minute Opportunity: Italy Odyssey October 2-18, 2022
What does it mean to be human?
Embark on a journey with the spirit of pilgrims, seeking to experience the mysterious pagan dream of the Renaissance humanist. Just as Renaissance mystics, scientists, and artists found inspiration from the ancients, it is possible for us to look backward in order to find our way forward. The stages planned for this Odyssey follow a natural geographical path, beginning in Venice, passing through Ravenna and Florence, heading towards Siena and Assisi in the center of Italy, and ending in Rome.
We will visit gardens, museums, palaces, cathedrals, and tiny cities. Each place expresses a quality of a particular initiation process, practiced in those times within the guilds and workshops of the artisans.
Our tapestry of experiences will include study sessions weaving together art history and Rudolf Steiner's understanding of the Evolution of Consciousness, opera, outdoor concerts, plus eurythmy practice.
Guides: Gillian Schoemaker, Renata Rogie, and Orazio Lo Presti

|
|
|
| For the third year the Applied Anthroposophy Course (AAC3) is being offered for the purpose of exploring the urgent issues of our time through the lens of spiritual philosophy, awakening meaning, inner reflection, and outer action.
What is contemporary culture asking for now? What are you being called to bring to the world? How will Anthroposophia assist you in the task?
Participants include a diverse group of life-long learners, hosted by world class presenters, who together create a transformative container to explore the alchemy of our individual metamorphosis in service to world transformation.
This course is for both beginners plus those already connected to anthroposophy who feel called to experience it in a new way:
Inspiring keynote speakers. Highlights from the anthroposophical movement. Themed discussion groups on diverse topics. The warmth of shared learning with participants from all over the world.
ACC3 is an online course meeting weekly from October 19, 2022 - May 10, 2023.
There are two breaks: December 15 - February 1 and April 1 - May 4.
Registration is now open!
An initiative of the Anthroposophical Society in America (ASA).
