Barsha MB Tasting Room -  Wine Club Updates

This month the bird is the word, you know the one called Turkey. But did you know that not all turkeys gobble… who knew?? Only male turkeys make that gobble sound, female turkeys make more of a cackle.

No matter how you are celebrating, we have 4 awesome wines to pair with your Thanksgiving festivities, pairing perfectly with all your gobblicious food.

Classico Club

Meyer Fonné Edelzwicker 2018

55% Pinot Blanc, 15% Muscat, 15% Riesling, 10% Chasselas, 5% Pinot Gris

Alsace, France

Characterized by stunning aromatics and a stunning backbone of minerality, this Alsace blend is racy, yet elegant. Zesty smooth mouth-feel with a medium body. Peach, grapefruit and tropical fruit flavors with a solid mineral background. Edgy acidity that continues through a fruity dry finish. Crisp, refreshing and VERY food-friendly to pair with your whole Thanksgiving meal.

Food Pairing: Classic Stuffing

Due Terre Nerello Mascalese 2017

Nerello Mascalese

Sicily, Italy

Nerello Mascalese is an indigenous grape from the island of Sicily that has gained recent fame for the wines it produces on Mount Etna. The grape is naturally high in tannins and light in color, though when grown on lower sandy soils like those we find on the opposite side of the island from Etna in the Southwest, it can be more approachable when young.  Medium-bodied yet rich and lively wine. A ravishing and silky wine with good minerality and fruity but balanced by nice earthiness and herbs.

Food Pairing: Butternut Squash Casserole

Riserva Club

Domaine de la Roche Bleu, Jasnières Sec 2017

Chenin Blanc

Loire Valley, France

The geology, however, is less important here than topography and latitude: these are, for the late-ripening Chenin Blanc, almost Arctic conditions, and its cultivation is only possible thanks to south-facing slopes and tough-minded growers. Their apple and grapefruit flavors can have a shocking, jangling intensity; the juices seem drawn from a cold stone rather than from vines on a sun-warm hillside.

Extreme minerality and very crisp. The sweetness from the fruit but high acidity makes this very food-friendly. Can even handle cranberry sauce like it was born to do so.

Food Pairing: Candied Yams

Marc Delliene - Arpaye Saint Amour, A la Folie 2017

Gamay

Beaujolais, France

This gamay is beautiful and offers everything you would hope for: profound purple color; an aromatic nose of black and red fresh fruit, rose petals and blood orange; and a palate that showcases the texture and power of the great terroir of Fleurie.

Elegant! Bursting with fruit and great structure. Super gobbleable ;)

Will go perfectly with the glorious Thanksgiving turkey!

Food Pairing: Perfect Roast Turkey
