Time To Get Out The Heavy Blankets

At least in Indiana.  Even in warmer climates the season we are headed into soon is called winter.  In moderate to cool climates winter can cause a lot of damage if a heavy blanket is not available to keep people, and possessions, warm.

If your rental property is currently vacant, it is in your best interests to have it winterized.  Even if it is on the market to be leased!  We are starting to schedule winterizations even though the coolest evenings right now are above freezing.  It won't be long and nighttime will be freezing time.

If we are responsible for management of your vacant property, you don't have to do a thing.  We will get it winterized.  We do this to protect and preserve your property.  In the spring, or at rental, we will de-winterize also.

This week we are offering some information on winterizations.  We hope you find it informative.

Stay Warm!

Cold Facts About Winterization

In cold-climates the weather pattern called winter can cause as much damage to a vacant home as about any problem on a large-scale. To see a home with burst pipes from the expansion of water when it freezes, and the resulting escape into the home when the pipes thaw, is a sad sight indeed. Hiring a professional to complete winterization of a vacant home is something all non-occupant owners must take seriously.

Beginning in October, we schedule all vacant homes to be taken through a process called winterization. This process continues being administered until on or about April 1. The idea is to protect the home from any freezing.

Are Your Homes Ready For Winter?

As an investor, every year you need to ask if your homes are ready for winter?  Particularly the vacant ones. The harsh winter cold and potential for snowfall can wreak havoc on even the nicest properties.

Here are some winter tasks to review and consider.
