The CDC Eviction Moratorium

Keep up to date with our ongoing blog post on this controversial subject.

The good news...the occupants are not even bothering to show up for most of the really old possession cases that are being heard .  So, the CDC moratorium has not come into play yet.

As has been the case since COVID started, I do believe that these old eviction cases allowed problems to just stay on the books longer.  The people who have been affected have reached out for help.  And we have been working with them

So, it is our hope we see very few affidavits over the rest of the year.  But, as word gets out, the use of the affidavit may very well become more popular. Our quick filings when the Indiana moratorium was lifted Aug. 14th has allowed us to get these worst cases settled without any other issues.

How To Manage Disputes Between Tenants

It starts simply enough. A tenant (in a multi-family property) contacts our office to ask what can we do about the loud tenants next door?

Some other real tenant complaints we receive are regarding smoke (legal and illegal), loud music, cooking odors and even a Confederate flag hanging from the front porch of a duplex.

Managing multi-family properties involves a higher standard of diligence just because people are sharing a space. Despite the diligence shown through strict approval processes, problems will arise. Knowing a path to manage disputes between tenants is an important responsibility of any landlord.
