Subject: ♨Christi Krug's Wildfire Writing

Is it time for a shift?

“Change rooms in your mind just for a day.”  --Hafiz

Some months ago I worked with a writer who was frozen when it came to his goal of writing a novel. As we talked, I discovered that he had been telling himself from a very young age that he needed to be a writer . . . or else.

Or else he wasn't worth anything.

Or else he had nothing to show for his life.

Or else he was living a meaningless existence.

"Or else" went on and on. We talked about what it might look like if he could dissolve that thought. What would it feel like for him to write without feeling his life depended on it?

Giving yourself an ultimatum locks you into a small space, chains and bars the door.

If you would like to free the most creative and capable part of you, a new thought is needed. It may be time to approach your work in ways you've never considered.

Reaching for this space and freedom is a lifelong process. It is the reason I am writing to you this morning from the Berkshire mountains. I've spent nearly a month here in a yoga teacher training immersion, so that I have even more tools at my disposal for helping people get creatively unstuck.

I am excited about the new exercises, awarenesses and ideas I will be bringing to workshops as well as classrooms, to desks and yoga mats, and to my own kitchen table.

If you are afraid or stuck or confused as to why you're not moving forward, come with me and let's change rooms in your mind, even if just for a day.
