Autumn Arrivals

“September days have the warmth of summer in their briefer hours, but in their lengthening evenings a prophetic breath of autumn.” ― Rowland E. Robinson

On a Tuesday, the weather shifted. First came the gathering clouds, blocking the sun
here and there, and then a subtle breeze. A hint of moisture in the air, and a few hours
later, the sound of drops – falling from the sky – was that… is it… raining? A few
minutes longer and a light rain had fallen, the dust had settled, and the bone-dry ground
had sipped its first taste of autumn.

As we approach the Equinox, we are called to seek balance, express gratitude for the
bounty of the spring and summer, find peace and grounding and look ahead to crisp fall
days and nights. At Wilbur this fall, we will be planting trees, rebuilding trails and of
course holding space to welcome you back. May this auspicious time of year find you
well and strong, and may your path be an easy one back to the waters.

Stewardship Notes

With a little welcome relief from the summer heat, it’s time to schedule Stewardship dates for work-trade. Some of our upcoming projects include trail construction, fuel reduction and building Beaver Dam Analogs!

We will be sending an e-mail to our Land Stewardship mailing list soon with details for signing up, dates and times for fall work groups. These stewardship groups are a wonderful way to experience Wilbur, get some fresh air and exercise and contribute your care to the land. If you are curious about joining us in this effort then be sure to join our Stewardship email list.
Hotel Happenings
Close Down 2025 was a great success! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined this summer. We now have new decks by the showers and flumes, beautiful stone steps leading to the Yoga Deck, happy plants all around the Hotel and Solar Lodge and deeply cleaned buildings. We are so grateful for everyone who attended and contributed their hard work! Until next year!

Please join us in welcoming new Healing Arts Provider, Simone Baianu. Simone has been in practice for 21 years, providing therapeutic massage to people of all ages, lifestyles and conditions for pain and stress relief. Her touch is described as: "solid, secure, and knowing.” She attributes this to her in-depth study of anatomy and physiology, along with a developed sense of touch. This equips her with the confidence to work safely and feel signals given by the body.
