Flow Through
As we all navigate the holidays and the changes ahead in the New Year, the gatherings, solitude, joys and challenges that lie before us, one valuable exercise is to cultivate a sense of flow. Water metaphors are many, and with good reason - flexibility, refreshment, fertility, purification, emotions and even life itself are concepts associated with water. In Wilbur’s world, healing, bathing, rest and revitalization are commonly linked to the medicinal waters. Let us add concept of flow: proceeding ahead smoothly, effortlessly, economically and gracefully. When “in flow,” ideas, solutions, answers seem to appear so easily, particularly when compared to when we are forcing what we may think should be happening. Consider “going with the flow” instead of “pushing water uphill.”

This season, be invited into flow. As you soak in the pools, the geothermal water emerges from deep within the earth, flows into the flumes, across your body, back into the stream, eventually reaching the vastness of the sea. This is the very same physical flow that dozens of generations of humans have experienced in this unique place. In flow, as in so many other ways, we are all connected and have common cause for celebration.
The Rain has Returned!
With the return of the rains, more and more green grass is popping up in burned areas. We are so excited to see what comes up this spring!
We've made significant progress on our new trails. We are working on creating signage and finishing up a few remaining areas before we open them to the public.
A few tributaries have started to flow again, Beave Dam Analog building is going to be in full swing here shortly. This is a fun and satisfying way to connect with the land and see in real time the positive difference that we humans can make when we put.
Be sure to join our Stewardship email list to stay up to date on all upcoming opportunities for this winter!
