Spring is in the Air
Through the winter months we were able to foster the growth of the musical community at Wilbur. These weekend music nights allowed not only the individual artist to expand, but also allowed the members of the audience to become engaged and contribute creatively. It was funky, inspiring and thoroughly enjoyable. We continue to come into contact with highly talented individuals and are excited to see what the future holds for evening programs.

As we begin to enjoy more sunny days, we tend to spend more time outdoors, paying attention as nature emerges form a winter slumber. Flowers start to bloom, frogs croak, migratory birds fly through, and the lizards start to sunbathe. On your next visit, I encourage you to tune into these subtle cues and notice how spring is showing up in your life.

With the spring time weather setting in, Yoga Deck offerings are returning! The yoga deck provides the perfect opportunity to be in the natural world while deepening your connection with self. Check out our Special Events Page to see what's on the schedule.

In other exciting news, Wilbur recently hosted our first poetry event! It was an honor to welcome the poets to Wilbur and we hope to be able to offer continued support and space for marginalized communities.

Upcoming Programs:
Forest Bathing May 4 & 5
Make space to connect, play and wander during a forest bathing guided walk on the Wilbur Hot Springs Nature Preserve. Led by certified forest bathing guide Robert Bray, participants will be taken on a gentle, short, slow walk allowing the senses to open. Inspired by Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of “bathing in the atmosphere of the forest,” forest bathing is a practice that supports health and wellness through guided immersion in nature to promote the well-being of both people and the land.

Communication Workshop & Musical Hike May 25 &26
Join us for our fist ever musical hike with "Honey of the Heart!" (pictured above)

Take care this spring, slow down, tune in and take notice of the world around you, you might be surprised

Restoring Together
Spring is prime time for Stewardship, the weather is fair, the hills are green, and the water is flowing. We've been hard at work and gaining momentum with our restoration projects in the nature preserve. This includes welcoming our first groups of Work-Traders! We had quite a fun and productive time working on Fire Mitigation and Beaver Dam Analogs over the past few weeks. With a variety of work to be done you won't want to miss out on the perfect opportunity to join us. Be sure to join our Work-Trade List to stay updated on projects and future work dates. It is such an honor to be able to work with each of you as we tackle restoration projects together.

We are excited to report that we are seeing more species of wildflowers blooming every week. So far we've seen lupines, poppies, clarkia, warrior plumes, and a many more. We've also installed two trail cameras for observation in the preserve which have captured several deer, some pigs, a fox, coyote, and even a bobcat!

There’s plenty more fun ahead, so we hope to see you or work with you on the nature preserve soon!
