Subject: Friend, Can you believe Christmas is in 16 days 💌 - SimplyCubaTours

Hola Friend,

How are you on this amazing day? I have to say I am super excited as after weeks of failing internet connection, Yoanis and I managed to actually video chat, woohoo! Makes my month to actually have a real conversation and not just messages! 🥰

Hope you have been able to stay in touch with your loved ones through this year. I can't even remember the times we used to have to send letters, how did we survive? 😱 Although, this year, we couldn't even do that... may be I need to train some homing pigeons? 🤔

What else have we been up to to prepare for travel in 2021? We are in discussion with our new UK travel agent to be able to better serve our travelers so we can be covered by ATOL and ABTA for a peace of mind. This will also allow us to provide package deals for our tours, including flights. 😊

What would help you to make a travel decision in the current climate? How can we better serve you?

Travel Updates

Well, tell me about the confusion on testing requirements in Cuba... Seem to change every couple of weeks or so at the moment.

So where we landed the other day in the official article I shared (read it here, if you haven't seen it) is that one PCR is required for foreign tourists. That is done at the airport and you have to stay isolated till you get the results.

I also contacted the embassy to confirm their stance. They have confirmed the same thing. Although, do not be surprised if something different happens on the ground as I have been speaking with tourists, and the one consensus I got was, that there is confusion.

At this stage there's no clear update on when the remaining the remaining three provinces open, however schools re-opened in Sancti Spiritus yesterday, so am hoping that means we are moving toward something positive. May be even close 2020 with a positive bang!

What's on the blog today...

I look forward to getting back to Cuba soon, my fancy new camera needs a run, taking some amazing photos of the beach and the forests and the creeks and the birds and the people.... oh, keep dreaming of the day...

On the blog today is the Zapata Peninsula. It is the final yet most eventful stop on our birdwatching tour, because it is filled with so many places where you can discover most of Cuba's endemics. It is also a stop on the diving tour, because the underawter world around here is as spectacular as the peninsula itself...

Read more as to what is awaiting to be discovered in this area...
