Dear Friend,
Thank you for joining us last night for An Evening with Tish Harrison Warren. It was a joy to welcome such an enthusiastic group of new friends and longtime supporters for an inspiring conversation. I hope Tish’s insights were an encouragement for you in all stages of your faith journey. I know I will return to her words of wisdom often.
As I reflect on our conversation together yesterday, I keep coming back to the idea that in weary times, growth in hope and resilience necessitates community. My invitation to each of you is to join us in being that community where resilience and hope are made possible for the poorest and most marginalized.
Nowhere is the burden of poverty greater than in South Sudan. Our program participants there face violent conflict, displacement, drought, famine, and now the threat of ebola virus. And yet your support is enabling women and men to experience joyful resilience within our Savings Groups.
As you know, two generous donors have offered challenge gifts to encourage an outpouring of support for our programs in South Sudan. Your gift today will have double the impact until we reach our goal of $75,000 — but hurry, because this matching opportunity is only available until June 30! Your partnership will help individuals and families create sustainable pathways out of extreme poverty.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration. May God work in the desert places of your life to bring about a new season of flourishing!
With gratitude, |
