Dear Friend, This year, Thanksgiving carries a deeper weight for me. It has been a faith-stretching season for ministries in international development. The dismantling of USAID and the growing instability and conflict in many of the places we serve have brought real challenges. As we at Five Talents work through these impacts, I’m reminded that uncertain times make the practice of giving thanks all the more essential.
And it’s with that posture of gratitude that I want to say to you personally:
Thank you for being the answer to someone’s prayer. Because of your generosity, women and men who once carried the unbearable burden of poverty are now able to walk in hope, dignity, and new possibilities.
For so many of our entrepreneurs, joining a Five Talents program is an act of courage and sacrifice. Learning to read, saving for the first time, taking a microloan, launching a small business, participating in a community of accountability—every step requires tremendous determination, often in the face of unimaginable challenges.
Scripture reminds us, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25). Thank you for being one who refreshes others at a much needed time.
I pray that this Thanksgiving brings deep rest, joy, and renewal to your soul—just as you have helped bring refreshment and transformation to those living in poverty. Your generosity is renewing lives with hope.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and grace-filled Thanksgiving. |
